    Broken Polaris quick connect

Posting an update incase anyone else has this issue in the future. I was able to get it out using a pry bar with a 1.5 in end on it which fit in those slots perfectly and gave me enough leverage to turn the threads.

    Broken Polaris quick connect

Any ideas on how I can get this sucker out? I bought a new quick connect and the old one broke off while trying to install the new one. It's in there pretty solid as I normally have to use slip joint pliers to get it off.

    Polaris 380 - Pressure

Do you still have the red restrictor washer? If increasing the flow from the booster pump supercharged your Polaris, then that seems like what you needed. I think the wheels are supposed to turn approx 30 rpm so if you think it is now too fast then you will need to play around with the pressure...

New cleaner recommendation - special requirements - giant leaves

Consider buying a mesh leaf net to use during the fall and winter. The rain water will just go into the pool and you just pull off the net whenever you see leaves start accumulating. Or just put a tarp over the pool. I have a bunch of trees on my property and cover with my winter tarp as soon as...

Weekly Professional Cleaning - Do I Still Need a Robot Vacuum?

How clean is your pool throughout the week? If you only want your pool to be spotless right after the weekly vacuuming, then do what you are doing. If you want it to be 99% spotless all the time 7 days a week, get your Polaris fixed. I run my Polaris on a timer and normally 4-6 hours per day...

Polairs 280 - trying to trouble shoot pressure valve

Rebuilding a Polaris is like rebuilding an old car. You can replace all the parts but will have to make several adjustments over a couple weeks to make it work really well. It has been revived with power and the adjustments you had set previously are not aligned with this supercharged system of...

Polairs 280 - trying to trouble shoot pressure valve

Putting the pressure relief valve aside for now, when was the last time you did a rebuild on your 280? A few years ago mine was sputtering around and not climbing the walls or out of the deep end and once I did the rebuild, it was like I had a brand new cleaner. If replacing the relief valve...

Polairs 280 - trying to trouble shoot pressure valve

My pressure relief valve spits out a little bit of water when the booster pump is on, almost like a small leak. If it's spraying out a bunch of water then you have a crack in it and need a new one. The blue or red discs are normally necessary and will also make your booster pump quieter. If you...

Polaris 360 - tail gets sucked in

How much flow are you getting through the tail? It should whip back and forth like a crocodile swimming through the water. You should also see it spray 5-10 feet out of the water when it climbs high on the walls. There should be an adjuster knob to regulate the flow. You may also want to check...

recommended cleaner for around 150 or less?

I think you need to reset your expectation on cost. I spent over $150 for a rebuild kit for my Polaris and that was just for a bunch of parts for a machine +10 years old. My booster pump alone cost over $250 and the Polaris new is several hundred. Robots running from an extension cord are going...

    Sweet spot for vac?

Start with 3-4 hours and then increase it by 30 min each day until you consistently have it clean. I run my Polaris 280 for 3 hours in early morning and 3 hours in late afternoon but I also get a lot of leaves in my pool from trees on my property.

    Back up valve

Check to make sure you have the red or blue washer in the quick connect at the wall. This plastic washer restricts the water flow to help with your problem. Mine never had one until I replaced the quick connect and regulated the pressure perfectly but it also made my booster pump much quieter...

A Polaris 380 Rebuild Kit. Quick tip

I doubt you would need to rebuild it after only a few years and just replace a specific part if it breaks. Maybe other experts know of the general guidelines. How I made the decision to rebuild it last year came from me frequently having to buy tiny parts for it individually and the cost for...

A Polaris 380 Rebuild Kit. Quick tip

When I did the rebuild kit on my Polaris last year, it took a week or two of tinkering to finally get everything moving correctly. It really is like rebuilding an old classic car and having to tinker with everything to run like new. Although your Polaris looks a lot less "used" than mine which...

Tangled Polaris 380 Pressure too high?

Greg, I just installed the new assembly for the pressure relief valve and quick connect this past weekend. I never had one of those red/blue restrictor washers in the threaded hookup before. Now that I have the red one installed, my Polaris is running much better and it actually made my booster...

Tangled Polaris 380 Pressure too high?

You want good pressure and the backup valve should be powerful to actually get it to back up 5-6 feet each time. You may want to replace your pressure relief value on the connector to the wall. I'm having some trouble right now with my Polaris 280 not driving up out of the deep end and I rebuilt...
