We have the Intermatic mechanical timers. They are simple to operate and very reliable.
Your electrician can handle this for you. Just let him know you will be purchasing a 2 speed pump and
a heat delay for the heater.
See if you can get a model number for the pump you were quoted.
Hayward does not list a 2 hp/2 speed in their Matrix series of above-ground pumps.
Hayward does not list any 2 hp above ground pumps???
No luck with a Google or Bing search for Hayward Matrix and 2 hp pumps.
The Hayward 150 system is usually a 1.5 hp pump and a 150 sq/ft cartridge filter sold together on a plastic base.

A pool that is
15x30 with 48" height...
Our pool is open and the pumps are running. I cleaned and serviced the DE filter 2 weeks ago when we had the warm weekend. Aquarite SWCG has been running at 40% for 6 hours/day. Water is "sparking" clear. Will probably add the solar blanket next weekend to warm the water into the upper 60's...
You will normally see these filters paired with a Hayward Power Flow LX 40 gpm pump or the Hayward Power Flow LX SP1540C.
Both models are a little less than 1/2 hp.
Turn over rate for 15,000 gallons is 8 hours with this combination.
