    Post a picture of yourself

OK, I'll play - here's one of me (my better side) and one of our 11 year old (today) who is the reason we have a pool in the first place....

    Purchased drugs from Canada ?

just so you know - I'm from canada and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with our drugs...matter of fact, they are all produced by the same companies that produce yours and most times the exact same drug.....and our version of FDA is probably a little tighter when it comes to gaining drug...

How about a random picture thread

Funny - every lake in Northern Ontario looks like that - we have thousands and someone needs to know which lake.... A buddy took this shot this weekend - I think it's absolutely fantastic: i took this shot of my 9 yr old and a club pro recently:

Anybody here do Motocross or Enduros?

The Can-Am is made by Bombardier, Canadian company - pretty cool, have you seen the KTM Xbow - really cool too! Can AM is supposed to be getting back into MX too! All in all - I find that KTM is no different than any of the Japanese bikes, your friend may think really highly about his baby, but...

Anybody here do Motocross or Enduros?

Coincidence your blue was the best bike? I think not - Yamaha IMO is the best bike going, I've got a WR400F and it starts first kick every time, runs like clockwork and takes everything I can give it begging for more. The only issue I have with this bike is that it's really hard to keep the...

Anybody here do Motocross or Enduros?

Just wondering if anyone else loves 2 wheels and dirt? My son's into racing motocross, I like everything from track to trail, my wife just enjoys the milder side of the sport - but what matters is she enjoys it no matter what speed she's traveling at. anyone else - Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

The person who just posted before me...

On topic - RT's wife has a COOL looking SUV! Off topic - backup camera's are great (when they're not covered in MUD) - my mother in law had me install one on her Maxima - half a year later she asked me to remove it BC it's always covered in MUD and useless (She lives in the boonies - dirt...

The person who just posted before me...

RT needs to (edited by SeanB) say "Screw the warranty" and save himself $2000 on the liftkit install - I bet he's one of those that pays $1000 for a $100 trailer hitch because the dealer threatened him with a "warranty clause". (JK - Don't get offended!) I used to be a GM man (Still am for the...

    do floating pool lights work?

The aqualuminator does quite well on my 30 foot pool, but you should get the LED model - I made my LED model after my halogen burned out - way cheaper than buying an LED conversion kit.

    Repulsive Or Just Plain RUDE???

MamaG - Next time he's over, just casually say to him after he washes: "Would you please STOP doing that, the last time you did it I had a heck of a time getting rid of the Algae bloom that formed." Really though, he's probably doing that to refresh himself, I can see some people just doing...

    Anyone bike?

darn - here I thought you meant real bikes......we (the family) do some bicycling (mountain biking), outside of that we spend more time on the noisy kinds (MXers)

Don't forget to watch for the Perseid meteor showers

My 8 yr old, a buddy and myself were doing a whitewater canoe trip down the Petawawa River, deep in the wilderness of Algonquin Park, Ontario last thursday to sunday. The Meteors were plenty and awe inspiring - I love this time of year and for whatever reason - beyond me - tend to do a...

    Dogs... (posts split from MOLES)

What a beautiful bunch of Dogs! Well, this thread has certainly turned golden. I'm glad to hear so many of you are adopting from shelters, both our dogs came from shelters, Sawyer (above - named after Tom Sawyer because of his mischievious nature), had 2 days left before the inevitable, my wife...

    Dogs... (posts split from MOLES)

actually, he's an "all Canadian" or also referred to "back alley breed", "result of a one night stand", "oops" and many other terms. From what we can gather, he's part yellow lab (colors and webbed feet), part collie (ears and head), part german shepherd (tail) and probably some other ones as...

    Dogs... (posts split from MOLES)

New2pools - that yellowish junk - I wouldn't take it too lightly - it looks like mustard algae - I've researched the heck out of this stuff since I've had it before, it's probably the worst algae to try and get rid of, it can live in relatively high chlorine concentrations and the only way I...

    Stolen Pool

Wonder if this woman ever thought to look if her yard has decent drainage, if you have drainage, you likely would not see a trace of the water by morning. I backwash more water than that pool can hold in one go, and it just disappears too......

    Favourite Pool Toys

Crazycannuck. It only has 3 point, one of which is a BIG double screw seal so you can deflate it REALLY quickly in case the cops are after you!!!! one other word for you - AIR COMPRESSOR The sad part of this story is that my wife isn't doing that well, we just found out that she has this BIG...

    Favourite Pool Toys

My kid and his friends love the wild rocker - the thing is huge so I don't recommend it for pools smaller than 27 feet round because someone's going to get hurt.

Taking underwater pictures with digital camera

I have tried disposable underwater cameras with ISO 800 Fuji film and they worked great, however, I prefer digital mainly because I travel to many remote locations with nothing but a backpack and a canoe, to get 500 pictures of digital quality, it costs me less than a quarter ounce in weight...

    Grass on clay

It's definitely the gravel, I live on about 100 feet of clay, grass grows pretty well all around, but areas that drain well die off quick - my raised septic bed (drains well due to sand/gravel) dies off immediately to leave me with grey dormant grass, it does come back every good rainfall (for a...

Taking underwater pictures with digital camera

I bought another one for 8 bucks yesterday - double zip lock, 3x flip over design 2 buttons to lock the flips - supposed to be waterproof to 9 feet - more than I need - will test with one of my cheaper digitals soon! http://www.austinhouse.com/security/per ... urity.html

mermaid queen - my feelings exactly!! Although I do like that design - very cool! If God blessed Texas - why'd he give you Bush (x2 to boot)???? That just negates everything good about Texas for the next 5000 years! :)

    Wireless Floating speakers

I have a pair of Yamaha's mounted under my covered porch out back, and although my pool is about 120 feet from this location, because my pool lies somewhat downhill from these speakers, they sound absolutely awesome both on the deck and down by the pool (if turned up some of course). The sound...

Taking underwater pictures with digital camera

Ok, you can get serious about this like the above case, but it seems you just want something to house your camera on a budget, there are hard cases for each camera brand/model at about 250. per case available at best buy, or you can get universal bags. I've been looking at the bags - more to my...

    What's your current pool temp?

you can have some of our Ontario heat! Finally had a decent weekend without so much humidity. Pools back down to a nice 82-84 from 92 on friday! Now I need water - all that evaporation has left my skimmer starving for H2O - will likely need to order a truck in on friday since tomorrows forecast...

    Suggestions needed

ground cover... Try just round 3/4 pea gravel, it's cheaper than river rock, and looks nice - word of advice, put ground cover down, even after your deck is built you could get grass etc growing at the edges which is something you probably want to avoid.
