The most disgusting thing I ever ate

The last disgusting thing I remember eating was caviar  I was at a Captain’s reception on a cruise and since I wasn't going to be charged for it, I figured I would give it a try. BLAAaaaaaak I have no idea what people are thinking spending good money on that ick when there is pizza...

    Brisk waters

Way too cold for me  just got back in the pool yesterday myself. I've been in the spa all winter but it's not worth heating the pool if it's just me.

I put my local Leslie’s pool store out of business!

No, I don't like seeing businesses close or people being put out of work. I cringe every time I hear new unemployment numbers because I know that each one will affect an entire family. But, that being said, nature needs to take its course or we can’t have progress. These times are not the...

I put my local Leslie’s pool store out of business!

Well, I’m sure it wasn’t single handed but since I’ve stopped spending a fortune on chemicals in their store, I’ve recently noticed they’ve closed up. Oh well.

    Come on, spring!!!

I won’t get too much sympathy form most of you but spring can’t come a day too soon for me either. It’s been Dang cold down here in Florida!!!! I haven’t bothered to try to heat the pool cause of the record breaking, environmentally damaging cold winter we’ve had. I have been...

I guess it's time to be movin' on

OK, I’m late to the party and you’ve already received a great deal of very good advice and thoughts, I want to add my good thoughts to you and your family as well. BUT!!! Why are you going north to an area that will offer you far less of what you’re good at? Have you thought of moving...

    ok enough of this

Supply and demand. Not sure about the price disparity about your friends’ apples but it’s always supply and demand, unless there is another outside force like the government that is also affecting the price. Now here is where I’m going to stick my neck out and get flamed but here...

    ok enough of this

I grew up in CT, I'm trying to get away from the cold but it's not easy. They have closed the schools in Charlotte County due to the cold, I'm sure the kids in CT can relate  Had to switch from the Mojito to Bloody Mary

I can’t take any more of this global warming!!! Down here in Naples FL it never got out of the 40's today :grrrr: The pool even turned on automatically as a freeze precaution. It’s not looking good for tomorrow either. It’s so cold I had to put on socks!! Orlando actually had...

What are you doing when the Summer Season Changes?

I am soooo happy to finally be in that very exclusive club that does not close their pools down! Believe me I wasn't always in this club so I know what you guys are going through. I was in the pool today watching the Colts and Giants!! And I must say, watching the Superbowl from the pool...

    Dry Cleaning Business

We use dry cleaners quite a bit so here is the customers side. We will only deal with cleaners that keep clothes on site. The place that seems to always be super busy is the $1.95 each for anything, cash only in advance, in by 9 out by 4. That's where we go and they even have coupons, can't...

So, my cousin has a 55,000 gallon pool.

I would have never guess that they make an above ground that can hold that much water.

    Lawn care forum suggestions

When I had the task of lawn care, I always used the Scotts 4 part plan. It took a couple of years to take hold but for a landscaping dummy I always had a very nice lawn, and much better than those who paid for the service. Since you have 2 acres, it's going to cost you but it will still be...

How I spent my Summer Vacation

That the only way I could go camping is in a rig like that. From the looks of it, that must be southern Indiana since northern is as flat as a pool table.

    Computers

My experience has taught me to buy the least expensive computer I can find to meet my needs. Computers have been reduced to a throw away item. When they break, no one can seem to fix them properly (especially a lap top) and I end up having to buy a new one anyway.

    Selling a pool heater

Personally I would not spend the money on a heater that is 15 years old. I would be too concerned that as soon as I got it installed it would fail. And as you have admitted, it costs a lot to operate, I would think the newer ones are more efficient as well. I think you might have a hard time...

People don't seem to be using their pools much.

I would think that most people here on this forum would take full advantage of their pools. :goodjob: The lonely pools I saw were in DE, I don't think I have seen anyone in any pool I passed by all weekend. When I had a pool in Maryland, my daughter was young and she lived in it. Lucky I...
