Best pool I have ever seen in my life

I was thinking the same thing Re: water color and clarity ;) wouldn’t want to guide those folks through a . : “Did you Brush the niches? ALL of em?” Lol.

What did you do to your pool today?

I let this guy get his feet wet on the steps ;) Baby steps. He’s still working on “come when called”!

    Pitcher Cocktails for parties!

This recipe is similar to my 10-gallon midsummer beergarita party except i use 6 oz triple sec per 12 oz tequila and NO soda at all but serve in pitchers half filled with ice. You can scale up the ratio to a 10 gallon serving cooler, using half frozen lemonade and half frozen lime aid. Then...

    What's your current pool temp?

@Melnic...love your deck and pool shape!

What did you do to your pool today?

Caused an avalanche on the dome after some heavy sleet started sinking her...and successfully got Er back up ;) Only in Michigan!

So I guess I won’t be saving 15% or more on my car insurance....

^You mean no critters DEAD in your pool since you got one ;) I'm sure there's quite a party when you're not looking now that you've installed their "stairs" ;)

What did you do to your pool today?

I learned that I am subconsciously connected to my pool and that I am more reliable than a home automation alert ;) At 3:00 am I awoke from a dream that my pool controls ran amok and the pump was off. Since I'm operating in sub-freezing weather (inside a winter air dome), that's nightmare...

Bang for my buck Outdoor Wicker Furniture set?

What kind of look are you going for? I bought a North Coast Cabo couch a few years back (diff cushions than ths one) and it's held up extremely well, even through winter freeze/thaw cycles. I like the modern lines of ths one. Not especially cheap (eg. sold by our local leisure store vs big box)...

    Kitchen Gadgets You Love

Re: Kitchen Gadgets You Love Are you telling me you've mastered Bernaise? I'm sad to admit that as a grown up and otherwise known for moderate culinary skills I'm afraid to serve filet mignion Oscar because I've been known to mess up the bernaise at the last minute. Maybe its the 5-gin/tonic...

    Polywood chairs on sun shelf?

Grumpy, if you try it, spray some rust inhibitor or otherwise coat the bolts first. And don't leave them in ;)

    Yes, Merry Christmas!!!!

Yes, single speed blower. The frequency kinda depends on the footprint and how "sealed" your skirt flaps are, but in my case this year it pretty much cycles every minute or so. Probably adds about $50-ish to the electric bill. But due to shape of some of my corner radii, I don't really try to...

    Yes, Merry Christmas!!!!

Yes, a 3/4 hp blower with an automatic barometric pressure keeps her inflated. Most days, that is. A really fast snowfall in the 6-12" range can bring her down, slowly, but we've only had partial collapses (none this year, two last winter) so we'll see how quickly she gets back up in a really...

    Yes, Merry Christmas!!!!

Way fancier than mine ;) When my "outdoor" (domed) Michigan pool grows up, it wants to be your Michigan pool ;)
  14. Swampwoman

    Yes, Merry Christmas!!!!

Happy holidays, hope your party was awesome ;) Danny, someday we'll make a tundra lover of you ;) Running a pool in winter helps on that front!

Ho, Ho, Ho....Santa wants to know!

Yeah, sorry Matt, I was deliberately leading you down the dome path ;) There ARE downsides to a dome, in northern climes anyway. LIKE the now imminent heater repair that is critical in these temps. The rollout thermal switch just blew this am...but can't see that the fuse is melted or any...

Ho, Ho, Ho....Santa wants to know!

Matt, you just need to get her THIS one ;) Underwater Treadmill @ Sharper Image Or for the budget-minded, THIS: Amazon.com : AquaJogger Active Water Exercise Buoyancy Belt : Aquatic Fitness Equipment : Sports Outdoors (They actually work...injured runners who need to maintain gait etc. while...

Ho, Ho, Ho....Santa wants to know!

My pool just got a replacement air warmer for the dome blower...which Santa absolutely did not plan on ;) In fact, Santa may be in the house right now drinking scotch, pressing the naughty button, and taking me off his list...

What did you do to your pool today?

I've long wondered what my Square D was all about. Now I know! Its 57 here this am, which is actually warm for Michigan morning in October. Thanks to my solar cover, pool is 92 so time for swim therapy ;) T-minus 1 week til the winter dome goes up!

Do you swim alone with no one home?

Hubby recently commented that he periodically "checks" on me from his study when I'm floating on my particularly comfortable water hammock because I have a tendency to fall asleep ;) Not sure how he can tell from the window if I'm dead or alive, but if that was how I went, I'd say there are...

What did you do to your pool today?

+1...AND look into a solar roller for irregular pools -- its waaay too early to give up swimming - especially when you live southward ;( (Michigan has had a hot spell the last few days so I've actually had the cover off nonstop for a while with nice night swims at 90 etc.) So, I don't know how...

Our neighbors expect an invitation to swim...

Good system. SwampHubby sent me a link yesterday to something he says I need, calling it "KateGate": The Ring video doorbell is back down to its lowest price of the year

Our neighbors expect an invitation to swim...

Rickster, re: Lol. Hubby knew I was thinking along the same lines when we had to go out of town a few weeks back, so he set up a nanny-cam on my equipment pad. Unfortunately, the resolution wasn't good enough to read the automation panel, but he figured I could at least watch if the system...

    Fire pits? Any negatives?

Aside: I know what they look like wet...I used a deep penetrating sealer on mine to bring out the warm tones in the house ;) You can use them indoor or out in most climates...the slate has a mesh backing so there's design consistency in the pattern. I just love em and am still very tempted to...

    Fire pits? Any negatives?

MATTTT...you have my slate floor on your patio ;) I'm so jealous. I installed that mesh slate through my kitchen, poolside bath and hall en route to pool. But mfg, SwampHubby and installer ganged up on me and said it could not be used around the pool due to freeze-thaw here in MI ;( Clearly i...

What did you do to your pool today?

Since you mentioned it...my friend just built a nice one and I suggested to SwampHubby that the only thing our little resort is missing now is a nice sauna for snowy days pre game swimming ;) He was less than enthusiastic since he doesn't use my hot tub at all, and is highly unlikely to trudge...

What did you do to your pool today?

Was still swimming when the hail started ;) They're calling for 60s tomorrow, so i will get to watch the steam pour off the 90-degree pool. Hello, August, I'd like my summer back ;) (And NO, Joyful, I am not putting the Thunderdome back up til Oct ;) )

Do you allow glass around your pool?

Nope always...even at parties and strictly enforced. I do have a couple dozen zippered cozies now for beer bottles, but we still encourage the plastic cups.

Brilliant non-TFP diversion tactic, Jet ;) However, if I said it just like that, I might get deported ;) I get ribbed enough for being a commonwealth kid with a command of how to pronounce "pro-ject"...its the long-O tell!
