    Fire pit question

I think that to run propane, you would need a propane setup. The reason that I think this is because we had a CNG jet on the back porch for our gas grill at one house and when we moved and had to go to propane, the regulator and Venturi setup had to be changed to a propane one.

    FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!!

The interesting thing about Romo is that he posts numbers that consistently put him in the top five quarterbacks in the league, but he just isn't a leader. He doesn't command the field like Brady or P. Manning. While we're on the subject of Tha Boys, I don't see much of a change in our team's...

    Grill and vinyl fence

18" is not far at all and I too would be worried about radiant heat damage. Not sure what you could or would want to put between the fence and your grill though.

Keeping glass away from pool - what do you use for beverages

Re: Keeping glass away from pool - what do you use for bever Definitely no glass in or around the pool! Nothing wrong with those freezer mugs. They work well and pose no safety hazard.

TFP recommended in July issue of The Costco Connection

That is truly amazing. Wonder what further responses they will receive? Costco is responsible for selling LOTS of stabilized chlorine along with algaecide and stuff. Curious to know what else, if anything, their vendors will say.

Advice Needed: Remove Palm Tree, or Not to Remove Palm Tree

Re: Advice Needed: Remove Palm Tree, or Not to Remove Palm T I just dealt with the same issue as the palm tree was heaving my sandstone coping. It was a lot of work as I had to remove lots of root in order to fix it. Ok now but I am sure that it will be an issue again soon. I'd take them...

Another reason not to swim in public pools

Interesting that the pool owner would get the checkbook out for that, especially since it would be kinda hard to connect her case to the pool, as opposed to any other (pick your fomite) place.

We should come up with a new term

I don't really see any reason to change. You'll just have to teach everyone another term or acronym and it doesn't change the process. When folks come along and they need help and teaching, we can do that as we have done for many years. It won't change the fact that they need to learn and it...

    I hate fire ants!!!

That would take care of the problem. Permethrin is pretty toxic to fish though so I would worry about runoff into pond.

    I hate fire ants!!!

Because you live on acreage a have a pond and are concerned about chemical runoff (I would be too), I would suggest that you contact your county extension agent and ask them about particular solutions. They exist for this very type of reason. Just look up the number for the county offices and...

    Should I dig?

Welcome to TFP! Just to confirm, the reason that you are wanting to dig is to uncover the old pool and determine if it is still useable? If so, the excavation alone will likely be more than $1100. Then, you'll need a pump, filter, and the rest of the trimmings. Do you happen to have the old...

    Explosion in West, TX

City of West, TX. Definitely very sad. I've stopped at the Czech Stop numerous times. It was good to see the response that they got there on such a short notice too. There are benefits to having a major interstate run through your town, along with a large, metropolitan area only 60 miles to...
