Possible algae but no OCLT drop

Thanks, pool is def clearer after FC and pH come down to normal levels. It's not sparkling blue but I'm guessing those stains and dissolved iron playing a large part. Thanks for all the help in identifying issue, I'll consider options for iron/stain removals.

Possible algae but no OCLT drop

Thanks mate, I'll def look into it and consider this. Would also help to be able to either acid wash or resolve paint/plaster issues. Yes! Vit C tablets clearing up the stains where I rubbed!!. But stains are across almost entire walls so might need a warehouse of vit C tablets 😂. Will look...

Possible algae but no OCLT drop

OCLT Sun into Mon morning FCL - 19ppm CCL - 0.5ppm Mon 5.30am FCL - 16.5ppm CCL - 0-0.5ppm Not sure if FC drop is significant enough? CC still around 0-0.5. Visibility is improving ever so slightly, it's def less grinchy green now. Is the suggestion a complete drain and fill?

A quick evening splash about 🏊‍♂️ later and hero status has rightfully returned 😂. Green waters won't make the family album but a Christmas splash is something else. Cheers.

Possible algae but no OCLT drop

I have 3 little pairs of eyes staring at me since yesterday, esp given the 35c heat in Sydney. Suffice to say I'm not very popular at home rn. Hope this works in a day or 2 ,😂

I did , added 750g dry acid (didn't have muriatic at the time) however it only reported around 7.4-7.6 when I started the SLAM. Will do the dilution pH test thanks. Will keep SLAM going , pool looking better after brush/vacuum today. Switched filter from RECIRCULATE to FILTER now. Assuming...

Possible algae but no OCLT drop

Re iron/metals and staining,.forgot to add this is what my salt cell housing looks like, brown stains... when I replaced my cell couple months ago the manufacturer suspected the staining is due to impurities in salt. I used the salt from the local hardware chain, never noticed staining before.

Possible algae but no OCLT drop

Hey all, Started the SLAM on friday with CYA 30. After a clean and thorough steel brush, the pool turned a deep green, unable to see floor... Not sure if this color confirms that algae is lurking? Or just due to suspended particles regardless of what they are. Fri night into Sat morning...

Ah yes that sounds reasonable mate. Will check out tonight , looks like I'm gonna have a busy Xmas Ah no that's just a bad reflection, there isn't any sort of visible film or material coating etc in pool. Other than the stains on wall

Possible algae but no OCLT drop

It is pollen season here on the Eastern coast Australia, no farms/dirt fields near by. Will run another OCLT just to confirm. So all forms of live/active algae should lower the FCL level overnight? Could this be dead algae maybe. Thanks, - yes lots of leaves and with the possible algae...

Hi all, Greatest appreciation for all the knowledge and insight here. Have a qst - Is it possible to have active algae with no overnight drop of FCL levels? Attached some pics, does seem to be spreading , maybe I have some cl resistant form of algae? Or maybe it's just sand, I'm looking to...

    Yellow algae or sand/

Thanks all, and for the links. Will be getting the kits from clear choice labs :). Yes liquid Cl in 15L tubs (hardware store, will check dates). Sodium hypochlorite 125G/L avail which I guess is the 12% commonly referred to. Used before. For now ill have to start the SLAM a little blind...

    Yellow algae or sand/

Update - how it looks after a quick vacuum to waste. The residue is not slimy but feels silky smooth fine substance. When touched it just dispersed into the water. There was a layer of it across large surface areas on pool floor and walls. There's also clumpy collections on pool floor.

    Yellow algae or sand/

Hello all, new to TFP. haven’t done an OCLT yet (looking to get fas dpd test kit) could anyone confirm (by looks) is this is algae ? I think I’m in denial. There is a backstory including my SWG being out of whack for couple months and pool turning slightly green, I did the stainless steel...
