    White Foam and Cloudy Water

I see the pool store didn't give you a cya level, and the chlorine level is 5+++? This in not acceptable when trying to maintain a pool. The correlation between cya and chlorine is very important. Cya sets the amount of chlorine you need in your water to keep your pool sanitized. There is a...

    White Foam and Cloudy Water

No - a 3/4hp pump should be fine - what is the size of your filter? If you see some air bubbles in the return line, check all of your o rings and make sure they are clean and lubricated. Waterbear is right, it is probably organics that need to be shocked out of existence :grrrr:

    White Foam and Cloudy Water

I don't see it on the list, but have you put in any algaecide? I can cause foam. I am not sure of all of the other stuff that went into the water. With a cya of 30 you should have your chlorine at a minimum of 3. I would shock again, don't let the ph go above 7.2 for now. Do you see any...

winter cover blew off, green and doesn't seem to be clearing

Yes, do as Matt says, and I just want to say BLEACH, BLEACH,BLEACH! I just can't specify how important it is to stay consistant with your chorine. Everything else comes later. As soon as you see the chlorine come down from 20, add more bleach. If you have any trichlor tablets, add one to...

    Opening with high ph anyone?

There have been a lot of posts in the stain section on the Pool Forum this year about plaster pools getting scale over the winter . It seems that some dirt has gotten encapsulated by the scale, causing stains. Some of the pools are new, and others have not had a problem before with this. They...
