has to be something wrong with the pump. probably the multi port valve. sorry to hear it. can you take it back where you bought it?

i would think that the water would be flowing alot stronger than that video shows with that pump. the sand may not work in that filter. someone else can probably offer further advice. :?

quite a few people are using the intex sand filter including me. mine is doing GREAT! :)

it is on their intex store website which also has a very helpful video on installation. i watched it and assembly and install was very easy afterwards! :)

199 plus shipping which i think was 50 or so. thats cheaper than i paid and i can tell you i'm extremely pleased with mine! apparently they are going fast as alot of online websites are showing out of stock! :x

i have mine hooked up now and i can tell you it kills my 2000gal pump. i stood out by the pool yesterday with skimmer net and watched dirt and debris slowly disappearing from the pool floor. i just waited for the debris to come by me and then scooped it up. it was like i had the over the wall...

this is what i'm thinking about doing. seems like it being a straight hookup is the way to go. plus the intex sand filter is getting great reviews on amazon! i know its only been out a short time but so far the ratings are 5 STAR!

hey, if it works, GREAT! i may go the sand filter route. i want to be able to hook up an above ground pool cleaner and my 2000gal/hr doesnt have the suction. nor is it keeping the pool as clean as i would like. the waterway gets good reviews on amazon!

thanks for the info. i see in your sig that you are using a different brand pump/filter. how did your intex hoses fit your new setup or did you need new ones? also why did you choose sand over filter?

dont know which would be better. right now i have the 2000 gal/hr intex which came with my 16x48 ultra frame w/SWG. i am looking at the 4000 gal/hr pump or the .95 HP 2100 gal/hr intex sand filter/pump. any suggestions on which would be the best improvement! thanks
