Where to buy my pool/package for self install?

Spray adhesive - and get more than the instructions call for - it's not enough and not something you do half way then pick up the next day. Nice to have 2 people to install it as well, one to hold and feed the roll, one to do the install - spray your areas about 6-8' ahead (generously) so it...

Where to buy my pool/package for self install?

Love our pool, Wilbar mfgs many brands. We have installed all of our piols, this one 7 years ago I believe. ovals are more difficult than round. Use a transit or other device to be sure you are level, take no shortcuts on that. Do yourself a favor and use some type of pad or foam base (we...

Where to buy my pool/package for self install?

Most have found you get a better pool by avoiding the all inclusive kits. They under power the filter and over power pumps, you need bigger filter and 1hp pumps are just fine. Look for a merchants with good BBB online ratings, read their reviews. I got mine from ProPools, but there are dozens...

How long to get to swimming temp?

Now is the time for those fantastic brainy calculatin fools to jump in, they are always extrapolating something x something / some other thing and seems like they can come up with a decent guestimate based on numbers - 65 degrees x 24K gallons x 12 hrs of averaged 73 degrees x etc, etc -

How long to get to swimming temp?

Do you have a heat source like solar panels or gas heater or heat pump? What temp will the fill water be, upper 50s - lower 60s? How many gallons is the pool? All are factors. Could take several days to a week or less with a heat source AND in all cases you will need to have the pool covered...

Can I use Gorilla pads along with happy feet?

Gorilla pad is very strong, nice and thick - rocks will not break through it. I would still try to pick out any larger gravel/rock items though - maybe rake your base a bit before laying it?

Can I use Gorilla pads along with happy feet?

We have the Gorilla pad - it's wonderful, comfy on the feet and strong. Also, it comes in one piece so no spliced pieces. You already have a level base? Then the GP should be fine - it is intended to be the base without another pad under or over.

    J-Bead/Uni-Bead or Overlap?

We had an overlap liner with our small round pool. Easy to adjust, more forgiving if you are in a hurry and cheaper. We have used unibead or jhook for our oval, looks nicer with the IG styles, jhook method is pretty easy as well, or can be used with bead receiver. I like the looks.

    Installation this Week - Questions

I believe nutgrass is a southern issue. Some weeds and roots may cause problems but the installers will do site prep and shave off the sod down to firm base. Just be sure they watch for level from side to side all the way around. Lots of folks dish their pool center or end a bit. A lot is a...

    Sanitizing without chemicals

The experts will be along shortly to give the official word - however, I'm not seeing the UV sanitizer keeping the water clean enough as a regular source of maintaining sanitation unless you plan to use the Bromine more regularly than just as an occassional shock when you leave home. I believe...

    installing a "used AGP"

I am in agreement and would add that even though stored the integrity of a vinyl liner for re-use is highly questionable after it had been drained. They shrink and tend to get brittle after being used and drained, even if stored. Lining up skimmer and return holes properly is nearly impossible...

has anyone bought a pool liner online?

We had our replacement liner ordered from PCPools.com and had very good service and fast delivery. We have ordered many items there.

when do i put the coping strips and top rail on?

I'm guessing you have an overlap liner? With a round pool the pressure goes iutward equally on the sides so shouldn't collapse a wall. Once the water is at about 8-10" below the skimmer/return you should be fairly confident the liner isn't going to move anymore so can put the coping strips and...

Walls collapsing while filling - please help me!

Can you post a picture? We've had some people who think their walls are coming in and but they aren't - the liner will stretch in. It REALLY helps to fill the pool on a hot sunny day - that liner will really get soft as butter and stretch so nicely when it's hot and sunny (sun is THE biggest...

    Sand filter/pump/SWG location

Ok, I'm just gonna give my TC here - I believe with an AGP you need to make sure your pump and filter are lower than the return? Other than than, don't know if there would be an issue with the pool setup. Good luck!
