Day 7 I am not getting sand in my pool, only a little in my field after backwash and rinse. Just didn't know how much is normal. Any idea how to clear up the pool once the water is clean?

I have been using the rinse setting. I guess I should have been clearer in my description, my apologies. My backwash and rinse drain runs I to my field and it leaves a little sand on the ground by the pipe. I have heard a little loss of sand is normal when backwashing and rinsing but not sure...

OK I read the article and have a couple questions. Pardon my ignorance, but when y'all refer to the skimmer, is that the two pool skimmers I have on the deck of my pool or the main skimmer at the pump? Also, where can I purchase DE for pool use? Only the pool store? Ans another question, I seem...

    Ready to get started

Day 6 of SLAM. This was taken this morning. I feel like it is getting better but not as fast as I expected, or as fast as I have seen others near my condition in the inspirational threads. Could I be missing something? I add bleach to reach FC 16 at least twice (usually 3 times),daily. I brush...

Day 3 of SLAM. Bleach jug graveyard! - - - Updated - - - I added some fill water to replace loss from backwashing and rinse. Do I need to check my PH again or can I assume because the PH was OK when I tested my fill water that the PH is still OK in the pool?:

    Leslies Patch IT

I am one day into a SLAM but am already thinking about my clean pool soon to come. My pool was built in the early 90s and the white plaster has come off in places exposing the concrete beneath. I am hoping to resurface in a few years but didn't know if anyone has ever used this product to...

Retested.... FC 17 CC 1 PH 8.2 (What!?!) My wife and I both looked at the PH last night and it was plain as day 7.2-7.3. How could it have increased? Could the MA not have dispersed well when I took my reading last night? Will this affect my SLAM or can I add more MA mid-SLAM?

    Ready to get started

I did not have enough bleach to start the SLAM last night. I will start this afternoon. The most recent levels were fill water levels taken at my kitchen sink. I can retake those today too to confirm they are right or wrong. What are typical levels for fill water and what is the benefit to...
