Recently had the pool refinished (PebbleTec) and after refill the flows are sluggish. Pressure washed the filter, no change. I am wondering if there is a bunch of debris from the resurfacing in the return or outflow to pool. anyone ever heard of this?

I recently had a salt water generator installed and got a FAS-DPD kit today. I have been using a Taylor kit without FAS-DPD and my test always read a PPM of about 2 trying to match the pink. With the FAS-DpD test I first filled to 25 ml added two scoops and started titrating. I get to 35 and...

Can I use different bulbs in a spa light?

I have a spa replacement bulb that is an R20 that fits. I would like to put in a colored bulb except all the colored r20 bulbs are too long. So was wondering from an electrical point of view, can any medium base bulb go into a medium base socket as long as it stays at or under the watt limit...

    SWG hookup correct?

Yes the box on top of the intermatic timer is the solar box (aqualink II) that regulates the flow valve to the panels based on set temperatures. The white box is obviously the SWG box. You can see where each flex whip is running.

[attachment=0:22nkpdhe]photo-8.jpg[/attachment:22nkpdhe] Had a SWG installed and wanted to make sure this looks correct? The pool is controlled by an Intermatic timer. The pool pump and my solar power box are wire directly to the timer. When they installed the Hayward SWG control box they...

Can I use different bulbs in a spa light?

I need to change the bulb on my spa light. It is a pentair light and calls for an r20 bulb. I would like to put in a colored bulb but the three that I have bought are all a centimeter or two longer than the one in there. I would have thought all r20 bulbs were a standard length?? The r20 is...

Use Floor Cleaning System or Sidewall Return

We have an in floor cleaning system that we have used for a while. In my opinion these are not that great for cleaning and still requires weekly vacuuming. I prefer the side wall returns since it causes a top water flow and gives movement to pool which I think looks better. We also have a...

    Big Green Egg Build

Thanks for the reply. I have had my egg for a long time and love it. The top is heavy but for both smoking and grilling it's an excellent cooker. My wife is a bit intimidated by it as well. Therefore we still have the gas grill. Nearly 2 feet behind it seems like a lot.

New Hayward Heater won't stay lit

It does appear to be a two stage. There is a regulator about a foot from the heater. It is dark here so I am going to have to look at the meter when it is light out. What I am trying to determine is how big the line is. The gas pipe comes up out of the ground about two feet from the heater...

    Hayward 250

I have a Hayward 250 Natural gas heater. About a month ago it started popping when turned on. The pops get so forcefull that the above ground pipes move with each bang. I am sort of a novice and figured maybe air was in the lines and expanding. I have tried to configure every flow change...

How often are you adding chlorine?

I am doing the BBB method and so far so good. I find I am adding chlorine about every other day. Is this normal? Our pool does get used daily and we are in FL with lots of sunlight. CC has consistently been 0. The service who was maintaining it before, would add chlorine once a week but put...
