I use Leslie's Chlor-Brite granules and can dissolve 1# in a tube sock in about 2 minutes. I just hold it in front of the return and away it goes.

How about the Intex vacuum made for your pool? They are inexpensive and effective.

Used to sell them at our plumbing supply store and called them "pigtails". We carried 3' and 6' with a grounded plug. But you could buy any length of wire needed so long as it's a sufficient gauge for the distance, and just add a waterproof plug.

What is the "threaded strainer connector"? A pool of your size should come with plunger valves that connect right to the pump hoses without anything needed.

Cool. The Intex 1650 sand filter/pump is a pretty good combo and is working well on my 18 footer. With an eyeball return the pool circulates well. It actually pushes me in slow circles when I float in the pool :goodjob:

I have two of those Intex magnetic lights on my 18' Ultra Frame. It is very well lit :-) I plugged both of them into a standard timer that cycles them every night. I love seeing the pool light up at 8:30!
