It would have been hard for something to have scraped it, since the pool had about a foot of ice on the top at the time it let go. My guess is that the cold caused the liner contract just enough to cause a weak spot to show up.

I live in the country and have hard water so over time as I have to add water to my pool it is going to raise the hardness of it. My question is does the BBB Method increase the hardness of water more then anything else or is it the best option...? What are the thoughts on this?

There is only one dealer local for that brand so calling and asking with that address is not a bad idea. I shall give that a go.

Not getting a lot of help from the neighbors. Best they can guess it was new in 2000-2004. The previous owner is no where to be found. I was hoping that there would be some sort of marking on the pool that would give it away, but so far I have not found anything.

Thanks for the reply. My local pool dealer said a standard 27' wouldn't fit though because the true size is 26' 8". e.g. you can stretch one, but can't shrink one. Does anyone know of an online place to buy a metric 27?
