    Nope, just need to be able to vacuum and backwash. If you think a smaller pump can handle it, that would be my preference.

    Maybe I should just swap motor out of the Whisperflo to a 2 speed or VS. What would be your recommendation for those replacements?

    im considering piping a second pump in parallel to simulate a 2 speed pump. I have the older Magnetek unit still, so I can swap the motor. any recommendations on adding a low flow pump? Should I replace my sand filter with a larger model?
