    Intex salt cell dis-assembly

Hi all, was wondering? I replaced the cell on my intex cs8110 and all seems well. However I would like to tear apart the old one and see if I can figure out why it went bad. Has anyone took one apart and not totally destroyed it? If so I would sure like to know, Just for fun really.

    Intex Cs 8110 Parts

Ya know. I kinda wonder if the gallon rating really means anything in the first place. the way I figure it, most of the killing power of the generator takes place in the pipe on the way back into the pool. as long as you can turn the water over it should keep it in range I would think? But I...

    Intex Cs 8110 Parts

Yeah sadly. I did find a place on eBay that has a bunch of the newer versions either used or open box with a 14 day no haggle return policy??? So I though I would roll the dice and try so I bid 50 bucks on one and got beat buy a dollar. IDK, guess I should just eat the shipping and buy a new cell?

    Intex Cs 8110 Parts

That was the first thing I did. And no. I am still getting a little bit right up by the plug, but I have to get a flashlight in the dark and shine it up from the bottom to see them.

    Intex Cs 8110 Parts

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Thing has worked flawless for about 2-3 years. can't remember really. Anyway I started getting the low salt errors even after cleaning so I checked the salt level and got about 2850 ppm. I raised it up to just about 3000 and no luck. So I did the bypass thing and that...

    Intex Cs 8110 Parts

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has salt cell for an Intex CS 8110 laying around. Mine after 3 seasons has bit the dust and intex wants half the price for shipping it than the price of the part. The Part # is 11374, I was hoping someone might have one before I break down and just order it. I...

Pentair Dynamo 1.5 hp stopped working

Ok. Would a shot of contact cleaner do it or would I need to sand them off if there's any corrosion?

Pentair Dynamo 1.5 hp stopped working

Sorry it took so long to respond. No capacitor in it that I can find, It does have a terminal block in it for the ac line and the switch-Maybe that could be it. Now it does have what acts like a clutch that spins in and engages when it starts. Once it was running on the bench it sounded normal...

Pentair Dynamo 1.5 hp stopped working

Was doing my routine maint and shut the pump off, went to restart it and it just hummed. Typically I would say the capacitor was shot but can't find one on it? Funny thing is I decided to go ahead and close it for the winter amd worry about it in the spring, so I pulled it off. Plugged it in on...

    Pondering SWG's and other things

That is certainly true. I have to lower it just about every other week or so. But nobody has yet to answer the question about what happens to the bubbles?:D

    Pondering SWG's and other things

Ok I understand I Think? But am I right in assuming that the hydrogen gas bubbles just end up floating to the top and get released into the air? Not that it really matters at all. I just remembered 8th grade science class when we broke down water into Hydrogen / oxygen gas using pretty...

    Pondering SWG's and other things

OK i have a 2 fold question? A. Since a SWG breaks down salt to produce chlorine, Does it not by default break down the water (h2o) into hydrogen and oxygen gas ? And if so do the Molecules re-combine to create h2o again or do they simply discharge into the air. B. What is the purpose of using...

    My Bright Idea?

Here's what I did one time. Got a bunch of those puff ball things from someones cotton wood tree in the pool. I took a plain old coffee filter and put it in the skimmer basket.

    Pentair dynamo motor bearings

Thanks to everyone. I was hoping that was the case. Where I work we replace motor bearings alot. just some electric motors are sealed and was hoping someone knew before I tore it apart for no reason. Also thanks for the tip on the seals. Didn't think of that. By the way rambler. Where in alabama...

    Pentair dynamo motor bearings

Hi all. I have a pentair Dynamo 1 hp pump, and the motor is sqalling. Mainly after it's been off for a while and I re-start it and it go's away after it runs awhile. I was wondering if anyone knew if the bearings could be replaced in the motor. I checked to see how much a new motor costs and I...

    Opinions please

I have the same issue with the bottom on mine. I found a cheap zodiac ranger at a yard sale for 25 cents. Does a killer job on mine, even gets the stuff out of the foot prints.

The one I have only allows me to adjust the run time. Before all that rain I was checking it with strips and the FC was running about 1.5 according to the strips fairly consistantly running about 5 hrs a day. I was running the pump about 12 hrs a day. What I think got me was I didn't have all...

Bout done with this saltwater thing

Well after doing a little homework on the local water supplys and pool chem I found out that were we used to live they had almost perfect water that came from a deep well with a very LOW ph. so it would be almost acidic. I would add 2lbs of cal-hypo shock about once a week and all would be well...

Bout done with this saltwater thing

Agreed. Thing is we have had pools for a long time, and we had found a prosess that worked for us for a long time, 8-9 yrs or so without any problems at all. True had some in the beginning but had figured out how to keep things good for us. Then we moved to a new place about 8 miles from where...

Yes I understand. The 4 and the 24 are both ppm. I don't have a way to test that high. And I need to be able to to do this process correctly. Yes I understand. I also understand that In my original post I was convinced it wasn't an alge problem and You all proved me wrong and proved also in...

Bout done with this saltwater thing

Yes. I Totally agree. The oto kit only tests to 4.0, According to the pool math thats what I needed to get me to 24. However the fact remains that what happened to me as not what I thought happened to me and that I need to stick to a method once I get this cleaned up.

OK-I CONCEDE OH GREAT GODS OF POOL CARE! Got a test kit. Not a TF 100 but a real oto based kit. To start with the Ph as off the high end. SO I started adding the dry minus stuff 2lbs at a time, After 7lbs I was down to 7.8. Still high buut I ran out. Then The FC was @ 1.0 and...

Well I must admit, They are the cheap strips that came with the swg. so agreed not the most acurate. that was the reason I took it to the store. Why I'm thinkin it the metal is because It started with these spots on the bottom. They didn't look like alge, More like little piles of powder that...
