OP has a TF-Pro Salt test kit. The TFTestkits used to come with the small Taylor comparator. I beleive (at least some) come with a non-Taylor comparator - but the R-0600 (chlorine) and R-0014 (pH) reagents are the same.

Wait until the water level is sufficient for the skimmer to work. You don't want to pull air in thru the skimmer.

If you follow TFP methods, there is no reason to shock or super-chlorinate your pool. What test kit are you using? Post a full set of current test results from one of the redommended test kits (not pool store results).
