    ok so its now 6:10pm in lovely southern California and after 2 hours my FC is 12.5 and my CC IS 0.5 ... So far so good i will be re testing at 8:00 pm once its nice and dark to see where I'm at and hopefully i can perform a overnight FC loss test.

    you're right i just checked it is only 35 inches ... so my gallons number should be lower.. 3,372 to be exact

    yes sorry the manufacture states that the pool water gallons is 3300, but iI found the formula to find out pool capacity for a round pool which is diameter X diameters X depth X 5.9 which if i input my numbers it gives me 4047 which i round down to 4000.     Nothing has been added since the pool got filled with water OK So I'm going to put 5.6 oz of CYA by volume of chlorine stabilizer (in a sock) and 25 oz of 10% sodium hypochlorite. <--- got this from the pool math with the numbers you shared with me.

    ok just bought Taylor K-2006 testing kit off amazon should be getting it in 3 to 5 days .... in the meanwhile i get that test kit what should i do so i won't have to drain the water and re fill the pool??

    No I have not use the shock Xtrablue ... Although I left the pump running all through the night and the cloudiness seems to have gone away . As for the slimy feeling it too has gone away

    Ok so I bought a 5 way test kit and results were as follow: Chlorine 0.6 Bromine 1.3 (For both chlorine and bromine the color of the water in test tube stayed clear ) PH 8.2 Alkalinity 300 Acid is low ( I had to add 3 drops of solution#3 hydrochloric acid)

    @aussieta thank you for you're response ... can I use 10% sodium hypochlorite and if so how much do I put in ? @woodyp thank you for the welcoming and as far as pool school and abc's I am doing that just going yo have to keep reeding it until it makes sense to me .. Thank you both !!
