I got Hayward DE 4820. I was doing my annual cleaning of filter elements and noticed about 3 elements had small tears in them( maybe a 1/8 inch at most). There were several little tears on each from the plastic inside the mesh. I guess the elements are getting old and worn out. I bought...

I have noticed this summer and last summer that my pool has some 'etching' or little holes that look like something has eaten out of it. help. Question about shocking with Bleach

It shows on the Pool Calculator to get a shock with my CYA level of 60-70 I need to add something like 7.5 gallons of 6% bleach. Can that be right? That is a whole lot of bleach. heck, that will cost me like 30 or 40 bucks. I do have 'some' algae spots around the pool, but nothing a little...

Of my return jets. It only last for like 10 seconds and then it's back to normal. Also when the bubbles thing happens it sounds as if my filter is kinda surging or something. I guess this means I have some kind of air leak huh? Is that harmful to equipment. Thanks

Unless you are running a SWG...you may be heading into problems with a CYA of 70 and still using triclor (which adds CYA in addition to Chlorine) Take a look at the CYA/FC chart to get a feel for minimum and "shock" levels of chlorine. You do not have enough chlorine in your pool currently to...
