    light keeps going on and off

    What shock level?

    I'm going to shock my pool. The Chlorine/CYA chart in Pool School tells me to use shock level of 30 (my cya is 80 and FC is 5.5). However, the pool calculator is saying to shock it at 21. Which one should I use? thanks,

    No change in levels.

    CYA Correction to TA

    I saw this chart in the Taylor Test Kit guide book that has you use a "Cyanuric Acid Correction to Total Alkalinity" chart to make a correction to your TA reading. Is this chart useful or no?? It drops my TA from 100 to 77 when applying that correction. :shock:

    numbers day after adding borates

    Added borates yesterday with the borax/acid method. Here's the latest, FC 3 TC 2 PH 8 TA 140 CH 225 Will test the borates tomorrow. Should I correct the PH and TA now or wait another day to see if they come down?
