Thanks for your reply. That is the way i thought it should be and have done it that way on another pool but using a v shaped coping. I dont see how the metal strip can go over the plastic. Its even slightly larger than the metal strip.

Thanks for the welcome! it's an overlap liner. - - - Updated - - - It does, so it leads me to believe that the top metal rail goes on top of pool wall first then liner and then the plastic coping. The instructions on pool are universal doesn't mention round coping.
