First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

The calculator said it should have gone to 100 (maybe as much as 110), so I may have misread it. I grabbed the water during a break in the storm. I will check it again tomorrow.

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

Thanks! I think that is what I am going to do for the time being. After adding the baking soda, my TA is now 130 and my PH is 7.6. Major improvement in almost all numbers from 24 hours ago. I am extremely glad I found TFP....

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

The water goes out of the overflow by one of the skimmers out of the side yard, but there is no way it is going to be enough. Unfortunately, we are under watering restrictions, so I don't know when I could actually do something like that. Other than needing higher amounts of Chlorine, what...

Honestly, I am not sure. I turned the chlorine feeder off entirely in order to keep it from growing any further. Does rain help dilute it (he asks hopefully)?

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

I retested this morning. FC 9 CC 0.2 PH 7.4 TA 60 CH 350 - 375 (man my eyes are bad....blue is a rough color for me.) CYA 90 I just added baking soda into the skimmer to try and bring up the TA. It will also - hopefully - bring the PH up a little as well.

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

Right - it had not been quite that long, and the Borax was a little clumpy and had not completely dissolved, so I figured I might get a further small boost from it.

Another New IG Pool Build - McKinney Texas - Must be something in the water...

I could agree with delayed rain, but no rain is no bueno. :)

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

OK, I decided to bite the bullet and TFP the heck out of my pool. :) I added 8.25% Bleach and Borax, per recommendation from the Chlorine/CYA chart and the Pool Calc. FC is now 10.5 CC does not appear to have changed - still right around 0.2. pH is now at 7.2, but it should be rising as the...

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

CH is between 380 and 400. My measuring is still not perfect, but it was going from purple to blue in that range.

Sorry - I will update my sig. 12k gallon IG plaster pool. Pool finished build a couple weeks ago. I did not check the CH - yet.

First test results with K2006 kits - and right after pool service

So I got my new test kit in the mail today, and it just so happens that the PB did the service today as well. I know that my pH has been high, so I wondered where I would end up. FC 2.2 CC 0.2 pH Low - seemed to be 6.8 (maybe)? I had to add 16 drops of R-0008 to get it to 7.2 and I am not...

Another New IG Pool Build - McKinney Texas - Must be something in the water...

Nice - another McKinney-ite! :) Nice big back yard, too.....that was (and is) still the major downfall to my house.

So as it turns out, my controller is set up for salt....

I found something similar last night (seemed like the whole catalog), and it said that you could use that one or the Nature2 Fusion salt system. It seems like I managed to pay (without knowing...rather irritating) for a chunk of a salt system.

New Pool Build - McKinney Texas (North Texas)

I believe they call it Oklahoma chopped stone. Same stuff we have on our back wall. Goes well with flagstone coping.

New pool build - McKinney, TX

Stonebrooke Crossing - kind of surrounded by Stonebridge.

So as it turns out, my controller is set up for salt....

My guess? Something was ordered and put in wrong and they don't want to yank it back out.

So as it turns out, my controller is set up for salt....

I think that is the part I would need to add - the piece with the cell plates.

New Pool Build - McKinney Texas (North Texas)

OK, this thread completely freaked me out. I thought my pictures had disappeared. :D Who was your builder?

So as it turns out, my controller is set up for salt....

Wouldn't there be another piece somewhere inline on the plumbing?

So as it turns out, my controller is set up for salt....

I took a pic of the part of the controller that was beeping. :) I am not an electrician. I could certainly find one, should I decide it was worth it in the end.

Honestly, every single quote I got used Jandy. As far as I could tell, no one else made any pool equipment. ;)

New pool build - McKinney, TX

I didn't, so I just went out back and took one. LOL - what a useless picture. I shrunk it down so much you can't see anything. :) - - - Updated - - - Thanks. We knew we wanted to do that. One builder suggested pavers, but I just figured that would be an upkeep hassle. Of course, my...

So as it turns out, my controller is set up for salt....

If I decided at some point to add it, what would I be looking at, cost and difficulty-wise? Is it something you can do yourself, or does it require professional install? Incidentally, the way I found out was because my controller kept beeping. When I asked the PB why it was doing it, he said...

First time pool build - The Woodlands, TX

I feel your pain. We had lots of no-shows for our build, and then a day or so later it would rain, putting the project behind even further.

New pool build - McKinney, TX

And finally - the completed pool! It took over 3 months from contract to finish (and it was a month behind the promised complete time), but we are very happy with the final product. Sorry for so many pictures. When taken over the space of several months, they don't seem that many -...

New pool build - McKinney, TX

Part 3 - now it is getting more interesting. The wall has been completed, as well as all the coping and the deck has been poured. They also built a solid roof arbor (complete with electricity - you NEED a ceiling fan in Texas - even outside.) :) The stamped concrete worked out...

New pool build - McKinney, TX

Part 2 of pics. We get some steel and plumbing, we get some gunite, we even get some stone coping and a small wall being built for a water feature.

New pool build - McKinney, TX

So here is our pool build, in all it's glory (and agony). The first few pics show the layout and excavation, along with the associated carnage. Since there is no way to get to the back of my property, they took down - and tore up - my fence and side yard. So at the end of this, we...

need opinions on this pool bid.

I have to say that the bottom line on that made my heart jump a little. I paid that much for my second house! :) I would definitely get 2 more bids. Anything like this should have multiple bids. Keeps everyone honest (mostly).
