Well I have been using the new filter that I referred to in my previous post and I have had better results from this filter rather than the Intex filters. The flow is much better through the new one and I have had better filtration. :whoot:

I don't use shock at all. Just the BBB method :goodjob: Is there any preference as to which test kit to get for just the FAS-DPD test??

I was just looking at the Taylor website and I can just order the R-0870 powder and the R-0871 drops for the FAS-DPD test kit instead of ordering the entire kit.

I went to my local pool store (Pool and Spa Depot) and asked to see if they maybe carried the FAS-DPD test and they didn't have any idea what I was talking about. I tried to explain to them what it was and the man behind the counter told me, "We don't get that technical." I was taken aback and...

I wouldnt worry bout the one to two inches off but after this season i would do my best to level it as best you can. I use old shelves i had in my garage and cut them into 4"x6" squares and then place industrial rubber strips over the wood so as to not have any sharp edges against the liner...

I have these bugs in my pool and had them last year also. Im not sure what they are (look like tiny little wasps) but there are a lot of them. I keep my FC up around 7 so im not sure that shocking will do anything. I am trying something tonight that i havent done before....im leaving the bug...

showing ignorance here....what is Fiber Clear and where can i get it??? that sounds like it works great!! anything can help especially with this pollen.....

oh.....i see...i did use about 2 lbs of CYA in my pool this year and its worked wonders......

i think i will leave it alone for now.....just keep vacuuming through the pollen season.... :cheers:

i was thinking of that but i dont want to raise my PH too much higher.....its at 7.6 now??? maybe raise it to 7.8????

thats just what i am using....i also took a couple of those really smooth decorative rocks that you can put in fish bowls into the sock to weight it down a little....works really well.

as best as i can tell....my FC is holding overnight....i cant convince my better half to splurge on the Taylor kit so im doing the best i can, but i am convinced its holding....so my answer is no i dont have a CC measurement.... :(

i went and used nylon stockings as my skimmer socks.....:)......works really well.
