New Doughboy Pool - Comments Welcome

We debated the oval and round. We ended up going 32' round because the cost of the pool and install was considerably less than going oval. We don't regret our decision.

New Doughboy Pool - Comments Welcome

Have you decided against a deep end? That is something that I would recommend. It's nice to have that extra bit of cannonball room. :) (thanks for the link and compliments on the set up, Speedo)

Making the jump to a Doughboy from our old Intex

Pretty much done at this point. A railing should be in our future. Stain. And some landscaping and hardscaping. But now it's time to enjoy the rest of the summer in our TFP and wait for cooler weather for more work.

    Looking at Dough Boy pool

Yep. We have a deep side of about 6 1/2 feet on ours. Wouldn't have it any other way. My build is the link in my signature.

    Delivery of 12x24 Doughboy?

We picked up our Doughboy 32' round in a Tundra pulling a trailer. I really don't think it all would've fit in the bed of the truck. Additionally, the walls were pretty heavy and we were happy to have the low trailer where we could just kinda scoot and roll the boxes out of the trailer without...

Doughboy 21'x41' Autumn Breeze Build Log

I'm thinking unless you dig by shovel, you will have to remove more than just the liner. Additionally, that's A LOT of water to remove and replace. Plus the sand on the bottom would have to be replaced. I would be hard pressed to go through all of that after the pool has already been installed.

Doughboy 21'x41' Autumn Breeze Build Log

Aw ok. Well, if it's something that you have ever considered I would encourage you to do it. It really ups the fun level for the kids. My teenager said it wouldn't be nearly as much fun to have the pool without the extra cannonball room. :) But I understand if you can't go that route as...

Cartridge filter help...NO HELP FROM POOL SUPPLY STORE!

http://www.unicelfilters.com/pool_owner ... m.asp?dd=1 perhaps you can find something here. I tried to input the measurements you stated in your post but they were incompatible. The measurements on the website are quite specific (26 1/8 and so forth) so perhaps that was the problem. or you...

Making the jump to a Doughboy from our old Intex

My husband took a few days off of work and, with the help of my brother-in-law, we began our deck journey. We did the posts on a Friday and had some other commitments so didn't begin the framing until Sunday. We got the framing done in two days. Brother-in-law had to go back to work so...

    Paver Placement

You need to use pavers. Between splash out and rain your ground will get wet and soft and the weight of the pool and water will cause the legs to sink. When we had out intex we did what Bama suggested and laid the pool out and got the pump area turned where we wanted it and just placed the...

Kreepy Krauly Kruiser and Vacuum question

Putting the lid down appears to create a vacuum seal of some sort in the skimmer. The skimmer lid is suctioned down on top of the basket area once I turn the pump back on.

Kreepy Krauly Kruiser and Vacuum question

Would I still put both skimmer lids down or just the one that I'm vacuuming through?

Kreepy Krauly Kruiser and Vacuum question

Ok, so I ordered the Kruiser and it came today. And I'm a little confused (again, as usual :) ) I have a Doughboy with two skimmers. When I vacuum I have been putting the skimmer lid down on both skimmers, attaching the manual vac hose to the skimmer port and just vacuuming that way. It works...

Backfill AG pool with clumpy clay dirt

I'm not sure how much help I can be but our dirt was a lot of hard clay (the kind you can't even break apart when you smack the heck out of it with a shovel) and some good top soil mixed in which they backfilled with a skid loader. My only advice would be to make sure you have some dirt left to...

Thanks! I know now, even with the manual it seems to take forever to suck up the dirt... I still haven't gotten it all from the install yet!

I'm a little confused on which cleaner I should look for

approx. 30,000. I have a 32' round and half of the pool is a deep side of approx. 6 feet. And yes, I have read it. I understand the different 'types' of cleaners available but when reading the descriptions of the cleaners on buying websites they state 'in ground' (which isn't what I have...

I'm a little confused on which cleaner I should look for

Thanks Ike. Can you use inground cleaners for above ground pools? Could you use AGP cleaner in an AGP with a deep side?

I'm a little confused on which cleaner I should look for

I've looked at a few online and I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. I see some say they are for inground and some for above ground. The ones for above ground have generally mentioned for flat bottom. I have an above ground with a deep end. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Making the jump to a Doughboy from our old Intex

We are planning a DIY deck project as we speak. Kind of struggling with where to begin on it all. Never built a deck before. But we have several 'decks for dummies' books. LOL Have mercy.

Making the jump to a Doughboy from our old Intex

That's a hard question to answer. :-) We used two fill pools, emptied those into the pool, had the install delayed, refilled the two pools before they came back. They brought another large pool and pumped the water out into that one while reseating the liner. Then pumped all those pools back...

    65 Degree nightly temps??

We just had our pool installed. Our temps were only barely reaching the 70s during the later part of the day and the days were overcast. We ended up having a delay in the install because the day they tried to drop the liner was just too cold/cloudy. They said sun was more important than...
