    Replace old diving board

Spoke to my town - permits and bonding, inspection definitely required if I do not use the same exact jig. May do without a board. Very hard to find compatible base for my jig. Did not think that would be the case.

    Replace old diving board

Thanks again James. See above. I’m aware of those options. Trying to avoid. New bolts require cutting concrete, permits and bonding and inspection. If I can find a base/board that fit this tripod - simple switch out. Bolts are in good condition. I coat with Vaseline every year. Triac/Latham do...

    Replace old diving board

James - from my original post: Tripod distance between bolts – 9 1/8 (front bolt closest to pool to each rear) 10 9/16 (between 2 rear bolts furthest from pool) Is that enough info? No drawing but I describe layout of tripod and distance between bolts. Single apex of triangle is closest to...

    Replace old diving board

Thanks for the reply. Tried that and S.R. Smith could not help. Said they do not have a base that fits those dimensions. I'm aware of the cutting bolts and using bolt kit option but then it requires cutting into the concrete to reconnect to the electrical bonding wire and this is a lot more time...

    Replace old diving board

Hi All, I have a diving board - 22 years old and is done. Tripod in concrete is in good shape and if I can find a new base and board, I'd easily replace it myself (I take it into my shed each fall - base and board - easy to do). Problem is, I can't find a base that will fit my current tripod and...

    Part for Zinc Anode Installation

Got the guy at CMP to send it to me for free! @1poolman1 - I copied text from your posts here and the guy flexed and sent it. Thanks buddy!

    Part for Zinc Anode Installation

Jim - thanks for this. I have read everything on TFP about this and agree with you! LOL. I had some serious iron issues last summer (likely caused by work being done on old pipes in my neighborhood). Spent $250 on pro water testing of my municipal water after work was complete by my town. No...

    Part for Zinc Anode Installation

Thanks - this is helpful info. Just wondering - did you try both part numbers above? CMP folks keep telling me it is in stock and any supplier should be able to get it. I'm betting you are correct. I'm going to tell them if they have it - get me one gratis at this point. I'd cut the whole thing...

    Part for Zinc Anode Installation

Poolman - CMP tells me they have it in stock. See BOTH product numbers above. One of them should be it. I've had several emails with CMP support. Since I just bought new locking nut and o-ring and zinc bar, I'd like to make that investment useful and finish it off with this part.

    Part for Zinc Anode Installation

Hi All, Having trouble finding a part for my zinc anode installation. Company who makes it (C-M-P.com) tells me it is in stock and any pool store should be able to order it for me. No direct to consumer. I'm having a tough time finding the clear plastic lid (with hole in center through which...

Iron persists - complete water change needed

I believe there is some advantage in this order: ascorbic acid to release iron // sequestration to keep it in solution // floc to enlarge particles for vacuum to waste. Not for me based on my previous reasoning but may be useful for others.

Iron persists - complete water change needed

@duraleigh - turns out this is standard flocculant. I read about it and discussed on this site along the way. You have to be so careful after letting all the particles settle and then when vacuuming extra careful not to disturb the settled particles. If you do disturb them by vacuuming a bit too...

Iron persists - complete water change needed

How did this work? After adding this did you have to vacuum to waste?

Iron persists - complete water change needed

@duraleigh - thanks for taking time to reply. I disagree on this one. My liner and skimmers are loaded with iron stains. Without Ascorbic acid to release, all that will remain when I refill, right? I did not mention the severe staining in my first post. Maybe that changes your thinking?

Iron persists - complete water change needed

@ajw22 - thanks. That was my thinking. Don’t want to do this twice! Although I have three bottles of sequestration @ $30 each. Could always get ahead by dumping them all in a few days before Ascorbic acid and dump. Or maybe they are returnable!

Iron persists - complete water change needed

Hi All, Many of you have been helpful this summer as I struggled with iron after 20 years with none. I have figured it is likely due to my town having done renovations on water pipes and the fact that my home is the lowest point in neighborhood. Had professional lab testing and municipal water...

    Iron Saga continued...

My municipality does test for and list iron. I'm also having a professional lab come out this week to double check for all metals in municipal water. No algae so far and water sparkles with sequestrant but expensive and does not last long. Since it is time for a new liner, might do it this fall...

    Iron Saga continued...

Hi again, Quick overview of history - I am totally on top of my pool chemistry - especially since TFP! Iron stains end of last season before closing - waited for opening this season for low chlorine (zero) and cool temps // first AA was great and immediate and I went back up too quickly for...

Iron persists! Time for water change...

Town believes with end of pipe work and flushing already done that refilling pool should work. Not sure if that is correct but that is what they believe. Cost of refill is about $300. Will whole house water softener remove iron and other metals?

Iron persists! Time for water change...

Sorry for confusion and thanks for your patience. See above in this thread - municipal water results from my town. Undetectable iron. Town has been replacing water pipes in my neighborhood and seems likely this stirred up iron from old pipes as they change and flush system. Still do not know why...

Iron persists! Time for water change...

Dave - thanks for your thoughts. I agree with you about the copper confusion. Why do you think water change will not solve? Especially if I put AA and sequestrant before draining?

Iron persists! Time for water change...

Mdragger88 - I do not use any of those products. The stains come off easily with AA/Vitamin C tabs. Is this true for iron and copper? Or does AA removal indicate only iron? I have read all over TFP on this and had hoped for AA and regular sequestration.

Iron persists! Time for water change...

Report attached. It says "2021" but it was delivered last week. Page 5 is iron reading "ND" (not detectable at testing limit). My town says the work on water pipes in my neighborhood could be the cause - stirring up metals as they replace old pipes. While my town has some wells serving us, the...
