Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

I chose the concrete block method because I didn't have the skills or the equipment to pour the walls. Looking back I probably could have rented the forms and figured it out but I felt more comfortable taking my time and this method lent itself well to DIY. I set the first course in mortar and...

Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. Still lots of work to do but I feel we have achieved a major milestone by getting the pool open. Yes Suz you are seeing correctly, the liner gives the appearance of an all tiled pool. We had our fingers crossed going so bold with the liner but are both...

Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

Lots of work to do yet but got the pool opened and running this weekend. The liner is from Loop-Loc and the color is "Luminous Soul", also bought a Polaris P955 robot and it seems awesome but I have nothing to compare it to as this is my first pool. "] [/URL]

Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

Thanks Suz, I know my neighbors are hating me LOL. It's been almost a year since I broke ground. I have a feeling all will be forgiven when we have the first neighborhood open pool party though. I'm sure we will make it this season yet. Stay tuned

Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

Thanks for looking. Sorry these pics are not in chronological order. The concrete is poured and we are full steam ahead, at least as much as my energy allows. LOL It is tons of work DIY for the majority of the work but I enjoy it and get a certain amount of satisfaction building things myself...

We are moving along again. Weather and busy at work delays, etc. Poured the concrete decking Saturday, pics to follow. Added a bathroom building, extra plumbing and conduits for future use. Plans include cutting a french door into the master bedroom with a deck. Stay tuned.

Intellibrite controller and Easy Touch together?

Wondering if these two play well together. New pool build and I understand the easytouch will control any and everything to do with the Intellibrite light but I would like to install the controller along with it to simplify selections for my wife (and others, I don't want people in my panel...

    Is SWG compatable with concrete/aluminum?

Hey guys I am building a DIY inground vinyl liner pool and am at the stage where I am ready to install the coping and liner track. I really want to pour a cantilevered concrete coping and do not want to seal it. I do not want the maintenance or the look. Should I be concerned about using...

Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

I'm not putting in a main drain but I may do one in the sidewall down low. I haven't made my mind up yet. From reading on this site several people feel they are optional.

Pipe Rat's Concrete Block pool build.....

Getting ready for the weekend blitz. I made a couple boxes to load and set my sand and gravel in the hole where my mixer and cement are. I am probably over doing the steel but you have two amatuer camps. One doesn't put enough and the other puts too much simply because we don't know the...

    jenniferm's diy pool build

A bond beam could also be called a ring beam. Picture a continuos horizontal band of concrete around the entire perimeter at the top (or near the top) of the pool. I plan to accomplish this for my pool by removing 1/2 to 3/4 of the internal portion of the top course of block so I can lay 2...

    jenniferm's diy pool build

Hi JenniFerm, I just started the same type of build. While I am no expert by any means you may want to consider a bond beam for the top course of block. Especially if part of your pool is out of the ground. Good luck with your build, I will be following along.
