Thanks for looking. Sorry these pics are not in chronological order. The concrete is poured and we are full steam ahead, at least as much as my energy allows. LOL It is tons of work DIY for the majority of the work but I enjoy it and get a certain amount of satisfaction building things myself...

We are moving along again. Weather and busy at work delays, etc. Poured the concrete decking Saturday, pics to follow. Added a bathroom building, extra plumbing and conduits for future use. Plans include cutting a french door into the master bedroom with a deck. Stay tuned.

I'm not putting in a main drain but I may do one in the sidewall down low. I haven't made my mind up yet. From reading on this site several people feel they are optional.

A bond beam could also be called a ring beam. Picture a continuos horizontal band of concrete around the entire perimeter at the top (or near the top) of the pool. I plan to accomplish this for my pool by removing 1/2 to 3/4 of the internal portion of the top course of block so I can lay 2...

Hi JenniFerm, I just started the same type of build. While I am no expert by any means you may want to consider a bond beam for the top course of block. Especially if part of your pool is out of the ground. Good luck with your build, I will be following along.
