Paramount pop-up cleaner with Polaris 280

I'm on the other side of thought. I wouldn't waste the money on a polaris. The paramount systems work great with very little maintenance. You didn't mention if you also got the leaf canister option with the Paramount system. I would highly recommend it. It basically captures all of the...

Easytouch programming for pool/spa combo with one valve.

The SPA mode can definitely interact with the valves. On our system, I have a button programmed that says SPA. When I push it, the intelliflo increases in speed and the valve is turned which stops all pool water from returning to the SPA. I know its not exactly the same thing but we also...

Easytouch programming for pool/spa combo with one valve.

The key to the programming is in how you name the circuits. I'm going by memory so this may not be exactly right but hopefully it will point you in the right direction. We have a combo Pool/Spa and the Inteliflo VS pump controls both the pool and spa. Like you, normally we're just running on...

Our PCC 2000 system is acting up

I'm not sure if I totally understand your situation, but I think all of the PCC2000 systems have 2 fixed nozzles in the deep end which are up all the time and pointed toward the main drain. The purpose is to direct all of the debris toward the main drain where it can be sucked in. Except for...

    Inground pool cleaner help

I've also got a PCC 2000 and it is easily able to keep out pool clean even though we have 4 huge oaks in the yard. Do you have the leaf canister option? We had an issue last year where it wasn't cleaning well and I found out that the main drain had a lot of leaves clogged in it. Hardly any...

Going on vacation- no pool cover

This is why I have an in line chlorinator which takes the 3" pucks. I use it when I need to bring my CYA up and when I'm on vacation. I typically keep my CYA a little lower before going on an extended vacation. While I'm gone I can fill it up with pucks and not worry about the CYA rising too...

    Pool Valet experience?

Jim at Paramount is a very good resource and has always given me great advice. If more people actually setup their in floor cleaning systems like they were designed, they would love them. Our system has run flawlessly for 3 years now, in large part to what Jim told me. Our pool builder had...

    Taylor chlorine reagents

I typically get my replacement reagents from Amazon.com. To save on shipping I just order it when I'm ordering something else.

The boric acid is in the water!

I've been thinking about trying this myself. Where did you get the boric acid?

    PCC 2000 Help

I've got a PCC-2000 system and it works great. It really seems complex, but once you understand it, its actually very simple and easy to troubleshoot. ATXPOOL's right about Kurt's blog it has great info. Also, you can call Jim Circlin at Paramount. He has always called me back quickly and is...

    gray mucus stuff on filter

I would concur with the cottonwood suggestion. We've got cottonwood's behind our house and in the spring, it definitely looks like you described. It hard to even get out of the skimmer baskets. I usually have to clean my filter twice in the spring to get it all cleaned out. Its just about...

I'd like a PDF copy. You should be able to post it as a link if that works.

Trichlor and Bleach usage in tandem

I've got a puck feeder installed and I've dialed it down to 2 so they should dissolve slowly. We'll see how it goes.

Trichlor and Bleach usage in tandem

My TA is currently at 60 and my PH still tends to rise. I've got a fair amount of aeration though, which is what I think it is. Any issues if I tried to lower it below 60?

    Speed Stir

I changed the batteries and now its working great again. I didn't realize that weak batterys would do that. Thanks.

Trichlor and Bleach usage in tandem

I've noticed that when I use Trichlor tablets, my PH tends to stay around 7.5-7.6. When I'm just using bleach as my chlorine source, my PH always wants to rise up to 7.8-8.0 so I'm always adding acid. I'm just curious why this happens. Looking at the pool calculator, I'm assuming this is why...

    Speed Stir

My speed stir doesn't stir, it just vibrates in the bottom and agitates the water. Is this the way its supposed to work or should it actually be spinning?

In floor cleaning system for owner/builder

I don't know if you could put it in yourself, but I would highly recommend the PCC-2000 system. We have a two year old pool with the PCC-2000 system and its done a great job keeping the pool clean. The pool stays free of debris and I just dump out skimmer baskets. Its also good for...

Favorite (or least favorite) Pebble Tech/Sheen colors?

We went with Blue Granite Pebble Sheen and love the color. We didn't want any greenish tint at all which is why we ended up with Blue Granite. We also analyzed this to death and here are a couple of things that may help you decision. 1. Even though the color may be dark, the water is still...

Looking for a 'better' pool test kit box

I use the Taylor K-2006C kit. The main reason I got it was for the box it came with. Its large enough to hold all of the test reagents, testing tubes, and my speed stir. I also like it because it holds all of the reagents uppright. I actually think that you can just buy the replacement box...

What Kind of Grass to use in FL?

I have lived in Texas my whole live and have always had St. Augustine. I'm not sure what kind of Zoysia that we have in our front yard (it was already planted in the front yard when we bought our house) but the previous owner said it was developed for Texas climate at Texas A&M. What's...

What Kind of Grass to use in FL?

Zoysia is a great choice. We live in Houston and are entire front yard is zoysia. It is thicker than St. Augustine and much softer. It also is not nearly as invasive as Bermuda. I've found that it does really well in the heat when St. Augustine is starting to look stressed. It also needs...

Best options for vacation time pool control

I just try to let my CYA fall to the lower end of the range (30-40) before I'm going on vacation and then use Trichlor Tabs in my feeder while I'm away. I've never done this for a 2 week period, but for 1 week, it works great.

Best place online to buy a Taylor K2006C?

The main reason I use the Base/Acid demand tests is because I really have trouble determining the different shade of the PH test. I typically will use a drop of one of the those tests to see how much the color changes. My PH is always slowly rising so its just a matter of determining how red...

Best place online to buy a Taylor K2006C?

Its funny you should ask about the K2006C kit. I ended up buying one from Taylor directly because I couldn't find one anywhere else. I originally ordered one from Amazon, but got the 2005 kit instead. I also liked the larger quatity of reagents and I like having the acid demand and based...

    Paramount in floor cleaning system

I run mine 3 times a day at 7:00am, 12:00 noon and 4:00pm. The time is 1.5 hours each. In the fall when leaves are really falling I just turn it on manually every couple of days and let it run for 4-5 hours straight.

    PH Help

I would also recommend lower your TA. I had the same issue with constantly rising PH and I've now got my TA at 60. My PH level is a lot more constant at around 7.5. I only have to add acid 1-2 times per month.

    Paramount PCC 2000

I also have a PCC-2000 system and your understanding of how the system works is correct. The 2 fixed nozzles that point to the main drain are controlled by the main filter pump and not by the cleaning system. I have our intelliflo VS pump set to 1900 RPM's for normal filtering and the heads...

Paramount PCC Canister filling with air

So the only difference when the spa is in spillway mode is that some water from the pool pump is being returned to the spa in addition to the pool returns and in-floor system. That makes me think its an issue with the pool pump trying to keep up with that many returns. That is just strange.
