Anyone in the GA area put in a new BASIC IG pool?

Thanks! The backyard will be part of our purchase of the house. Staying away from something that has a yard that is too sloped. We have looked at one we love, but part of the septic would need to be moved, which definitely is a big expense.

Anyone in the GA area put in a new BASIC IG pool?

Only going 5 feet deep on deep end, don't need a diving end.

Anyone in the GA area put in a new BASIC IG pool?

I'm almost thinking of a contractor to install pool and pavers/concrete. I'll do all the equipment. I know I can install the swg, filter, pump and heater. Idk if a pool place would allow that. I'm sure I'll be taking away from their profits for overcharging on all that stuff.

Anyone in the GA area put in a new BASIC IG pool?

Thanks for the replies. Wanting a basic 16x32 vinyl liner, no waterfalls, no sun shelfs...just a basic 16x32 rectangle with steps . I know things have skyrocketed with covid, but I had an ig installed 9years ago on LI for $30k. I was hoping $50k would do it, but as stated here, lots of variables.

Anyone in the GA area put in a new BASIC IG pool?

Moving down in Jan, and wondering what a BASIC 16x32 IG pool will run me. No bells and whistles, just a basic one. I know I can get estimates once down there, but just want to get a ballpark figure, since we will be looking at homes without one.

Tips for staying open in North Georgia

I will never use anything other than a solid cover. No worries with dirt, and algae. Sure more expensive, but worth it imo.

Tips for staying open in North Georgia

The thing is, the pool is not being used for at least 4 months. I understand a later closing/early opening, but me personally, will winterize my future pool in GA. Just my personal opinion obviously.

Tips for staying open in North Georgia

I think leaving the pool open over winter is risky, and a waste of money on unnecessary electric. Why not just winterize it? Doesnt seem like its worth the risk leaving it open. It DOES get cold in the Atlanta area. Many nights under freezing, days also. Btw, Im on LI, NY. Been winterizing my...

    Rocky's reel worth it???

I have nice locking casters from my old reel. They are heavy duty, maybe I could use them on the Rocky's reel. Still debating on the Rocky's or something else.

    Wow. That's annoying

    Rocky's reel worth it???

Well I can get a like new, used a few times rocky 3a, with a solar cover, same use for $300. Maybe I should go for the rocky? The vingly does look nice though, and looks easier to maneuver which I do weekly.

    Rocky's reel worth it???

My old reel is about done. Wondering if the Rocky's is worth the price??? My current reel has cranks on both ends, which I like, because sometimes I have to go to other side to straighten cover a little bit. I'm also worried about the tiny casters on the 3a, which I'm considering. Thoughts...

8 years for a VS pump???

They want you to throw it away, and buy a new one. Everything today is disposable. I'm hoping a $20 chip will bring it back to life. My new jacuzzi vs pump is working nice, well it should for $1200.

8 years for a VS pump???

I will upload more pics tomorrow of the full board. Unfortunately nothing in Google came up about it. Maybe you can figure something out. So let's walk over how to test my board. If board is fine, and just chip failure, this is a $20 fix. I'm good at soldering,so shouldn't take much time either

8 years for a VS pump???

Yes, a major failure. The pcb does look intact, I'm just wondering if something else failed, causing the chip to blow apart. I might be able to get a new chip for about $12. I did Google the numbers on the pcb, but nothing really comes up, which is odd.

8 years for a VS pump???

So the IRAMS12UP60A-2 power driver chip is split/blown apart. IIm thinking of just getting a new one, soldering in, and maybe I have a backup

8 years for a VS pump???

Don't think it was a surge, although who knows. There is a main big chip with a heatsink on the mainboard. It literally is separated into 2 pieces, and some charring. Pump had been running the last day and a half on full speed, since I just opened it. Maybe it just overheated something, and...

8 years for a VS pump???

Well my VS pump just took a Crud. 8 years seems low to me. Its the mainboard inside that is toast. Couldn't find a replacement board anywhere. Sucked it up, and purchased a new one for $1200...Just wondering if 8 years is the norm??

Going vafl to chlorine and getting rid of salt

I have been using salt for 7 years. No issues. Lots of us here do. Sounds like user/equipment error. But if our happy with chlorine, that's great.

How often do you manual vacuum your pool?

Whats this manual thing you are talking about? LOL. My robot does it all, even spring opening.

    Iowa Vinyl Pool

Didn't realize you have to pump water off auto covers. Seems like a PITA. Surprised it doesn't have a drain built in. Pool looks awesome! Enjoy!

Got lazy testing...and BAM!, no CYA

Agreed! I think what saved me, was my solar cover is on when we don't use it, probably keeping some of that chlorine in.

Got lazy testing...and BAM!, no CYA

Didn't notice any harsh feel, maybe because its saltwater.
