I usually take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it 3/4 with water then add my chemicals to the water in the bucket (I just pour them into the bucket slowly from my measuring cup) and walk the perimeter of the pool pouring the water/chemical mix into the pool slowly... I try to not add more that ~48oz...

I dont have a good source for this but I feel like I have read it a few times... You dont want to run your DE filter for any substantial amount of time without being charged with DE... (something like a few minutes here and there due to cleaning the filter and promptly re-charging) Those filter...

+1 on The Pool Cleaner... I'm very impressed with mine.

I just recently purchased a Limited Edition "The Pool Cleaner" about two weeks ago and it gets to nearly every surface in my pool and doesn't seem to ever get stuck. It climbs the walls and covers every inch of the floor over time, the only area it has trouble with are the steps and very high up...

I am in the middle of having my pool remodeled and it was explained to me by my pool builder that all the white plastics (drain covers, returns, etc...) have to be replaced and are included in his estimate.
