New Pool Build Phoenix Arizona - DIY or BYOP or Other?

This is exactly what I did. Chances are there are people on this forum in your area that are more than happy to share their subs lists.

    Tell me about laminar jets.

That is exactly how my plumber told me to do it. That is exactly how Pentair says to do it in the manual. The only water that will drain is the minimal amount of rain and when you first turn on and turn off the stream.

Pentair ColorCascade LED Bubbler - water depth?

My water depth is 19" and the bubblers come out of the water 6 or 7 inches. Obviously, shallower the water, the higher the plume.

Pentair ColorCascade LED Bubbler - water depth?

Oh something I am useful for. Just like you guys, I had planned to do a gigantic tanning ledge 9" deep or 6" of water, but the layout guy convinced me to go make it a second step. When I get home I will measure what my actual water depth is for them. Pentair sends it with a 6" vinyl extension...

New Pool Build Phoenix Arizona - DIY or BYOP or Other?

My designer used Ammtec. They charged $250 for the pool and $100 for my grotto. I am not sure if that is in your budget. PoolEng is another resource.

New Pool Build Phoenix Arizona - DIY or BYOP or Other?

I went the Owner/Builder route, so I figured I should show the finished product. All said and done, my pool cost me ~$49,000. Had I gone with a builder, it would have been between $60,000 and 75,000. If you are in the Phoenix area, I recommend going OB as all of the subs are the same guys...

Owner Builder Pools / Pools By Owner

Seems pretty insane to me. For half of that you can use BYOP.net which is in your area. Heck,$2000 was too much for me, so I wen the OB route.

Completed DIY Build in Gilbert, AZ

Any guess on how much you saved, being your own builder and hiring subs directly?

New DIY pool in Queen Creek AZ!

Cities will be different, but I know City of Phoenix specifically states that window locks with thumbscrews are not allowed. The same thing with a hex screw will be just fine. So silly.

New DIY pool in Queen Creek AZ!

Have you tried James at waterfallspecialists [at] cox.net? He gave me a very good price for my grotto and accent rocks. Gives cash discounts.

New Pool Build Phoenix Arizona - DIY or BYOP or Other?

Glad to hear another success story for BYOP. If you started talking to them back in 2013, that would be back when it was $995 for a custom pool design. That same package is now $1995. From what everyone has told me, Todd would probably bend on price to get your equipment business.

New Pool Build Phoenix Arizona - DIY or BYOP or Other?

Okay, so I am in your exact situation. I know what pool I want to build, I am very familiar with the process. I have a list of subs already vetted by DIYers here on TFP that have shared them with me. Paying $2000 is a bit much if all they really are going to do for me is make a pool design...

    I need sympathy!!!

your PB should simply remove the wrong labeled plaster and send the bill to the manufacturer.

    New pool in Phoenix

According to this: http://byop.monomythstudio.com/assurance/ they are extending Pentair warranties to 5 years. If that is the case, and they cover labor as well, that is a great deal to use BYOP. Even with the price increase, that is a deal.

    New pool in Phoenix

I was very bummed about the $500 increase on all their packages. I am curious on warranty coverage of buying equipment yourself vs through the plumber. AZ ROC requires a 2 year warranty on all subs, but if you have an equipment failure on product that you yourself provided, I am pretty sure a...

    New DIY Pool in Phoenix

Wow that is a heck of a deal. I see Art of Tuscany on craigslist all the time and always wondered how are they to deal with? I am bumping my pool build up to this fall, you have certainly inspired me. Keep that list of subs handy.

Re: New Build in Phoenix *UPDATED 7/10/13* In all honesty, I believe you should. Part of what makes this forum great is not only the wealth of knowledge, the step by step process of how a pool was built, but how when something goes wrong, an explanation of why and how it was fixed. As far as...

New Pool -- Southlake, TX (near Dallas)

Not to be a buzzkill but when my neighbors had their pool built, this is what their pool builder did. I wasnt sure if I heard my doorbell ring at 6:45 on a weekday morning, but i knew it was them when i came home to find my garden hose piled up next to my wall. I was not a happy camper. I...
