Thanks for the advice...I was thinking about combining the effort while the yard is torn up...her ex dug out about 5 feet of dirt under the existing deck that was up against the foundation...I think this has something to do with the problems.

Re: WHen to clean bottom...does it matter? I have trees of all kinds all around, so if it isn't from the oak tree, its from the neigbors maple or birch or whatever...my spring is now being defined by what kind of Crud falls out of the tree next...Mine stays clean about 4 hours if I'm lucky...

I clean the stores out as well...according to the pool calculator I need 44.5 boxes....so I have a ways to go, I've decided I will do it slowly, and just pick up four to five boxes a week.

I've got the K-2006 test kit and have been testing the chlorine levels in my newly opened pool...needless to say I'm trying to keep it at shock level but what I've noticed is that once I put the drops in to make my sample go from pink to clear if I wait awhile it goes back to pink. Am I waiting...
