I accidentally dumped in about three times as much borax as I was supposed to and now my pools ph is over 8.2! Is there any other way to lower ph? Will it go down over time? I don't have any muriatic acid and I really don't want to use anything that strong anyway.

Is this a big deal? Not that there is anything I can do about it, but I'd like to know. I guess I don't really know what the filter does, since I was told to remove the debris from the pool manually. Power went out Friday evening and might be back anytime between tomorrow and Wednesday. :-(

Also, today I tested my tap water too and the chlorine is about 1.5 and the pH is over 8.2

I guess what I'm not sure of is what my goal numbers should be?

I bight the Taylor basic residential kit from Amazon and it arrived today! It said my chlorine was 0.5 and my ph was 6.8. Are those numbers OK? Should I keep adding half a cup of bleach a day?

Hello! I bought an Intex Easy Set pool on clearance last summer and just set it up today, but the package didn't come with any chlorine tablets, or even any instructions on how much chlorine to use, just the pool and the pump/hoses. I'm a single mom on disability, so not looking to spend $60...
