I should also add that my pH was 8.0 for a while. I have just lowered it to 7.5.

I should add that the water clears up. It doesn't stay murky. It's only murky when I brush.

The Instant Conditioner I bought at Leslie's worked great! It took my CYA level up from 55 to 85/87. I added with the pump running, waited several hours, and retested. I highly recommend it! I added about 1/2 the jug. Here's the link (although it's also available on Amazon)...

Wow, really? 4 hrs/day even in hot/humid/sunny South Florida?! That'd be great. I guess it doesn't hurt to try. Maybe I'll turn down the run time and turn up the SWG % and see what happens.

For those of you with SWG systems out there, how many hours a day do you run your pump? I have an older single speed pump. I'm currently running 8 hrs/day here in FLA.

My pool is screened so the only debris I get are tiny bugs (still obnoxious). My electric rate does not fluctuate by time of day. But you're saying splitting the run time may be a good idea because that'll spread out the cleaning time in order to more effectively grab debris? Makes sense...

Are salt test strips really worth it when my Hayward SwimPure/AquaRite is taking a measurement of the salt content for me? Does anyone know how much more accurate? Does the AquaRite seem to read higher or lower?
