I do not have all the details or specs on the auto cover or lids, however I was told it will be a Flush mount lid that is walk-on strength... I can try to chase down the exact manufacturer/company my PB proposes to use for the auto cover and get some more details.

I like this idea. Best of all worlds, have a little shelf, as well as the steps, but don’t eat away too much from the length. If I did the same set up, I would be +\- 28’ of swimmable space after the shelf/step area.
