    boatmen and backswimmers

I don't know, that was my original question.. My thinking is no as long as you don't overdo it, but it's all relative to how many gallons of water are in your pool I would think.. He said 1/4 cup for a 20,000 gal pool which is what mine is also so i will chlorinate and do what I need to do...

    boatmen and backswimmers

I found this in case anyone was interested or had the same issue.. http://www.lindenspoolservice.com/2/pos ... -bugs.html It states that algecide worked partly but not fully and Dawn took care of the rest.. I wonder if it varies state to state, different algae or micro-organisms?

Thanks Dave, will see what happens then as my chlorine levels come up although the water in Lathrop is terrible and has a lot in it already:-)

    boatmen and backswimmers

It s a newly filled pool, I have no algae and I just started putting chemicals in after it was filled up. I have had other bugs commit suicide in the pool such as some bees/wasps and a couple of praying mantis' so I am not sure what they could want to feed on unless they're eating the other...

    boatmen and backswimmers

Hello, still fairly new to this site but it's been very helpful.. I finally got my pool installed and have had a couple of the backswimmers show up. I've been reading many forums and even a professional pool cleaner recommended Dawn but my question is would doing this harm my sand filter or...

    Doughboy pool and slurry

Hi, I was wondering if there's anyone on this forum who's sunk a doughboy AGP and sealed the sides with plastic or roofing tar as I've heard of some people doing before they backfilled with the slurry mixture.. I have read it depends on your soil as to if you need to worry about corrosion of...

    Doughboy pool advice

I was wondering how you figure out how much slurry you need. Is there a table someplace for that information for say a 16 x 32 Copper canyon Doughboy? Thank you!

Solar heaters...panels versus Solar Arc or Solar Pro coils?

Re: Solar heaters...panels versus Solar Arc or Solar Pro coi Isaac, It will mostly be used seasonally, we get very warm weather at least 5 months or so (end of May till Mid October). We have not decided whether to sink it halfway or just do a deep end yet. I would be happy to get use of it 6...

Solar heaters...panels versus Solar Arc or Solar Pro coils?

Re: Solar heaters...panels versus Solar Arc or Solar Pro coi Thank you both! Maybe we can mount them to our fence or something then, to get them off the ground and not have to put them on our roof without having a lot of cable everywhere or having to dig (more) :-)

Solar heaters...panels versus Solar Arc or Solar Pro coils?

Hi all- Just bought my pool and trying to think of things i need to look into before we have it installed.. I want a solar heater, but I really don't want to have to lay them out on the ground (panels) or try and find a way to mount to my roof of my home.. Any thoughts on the solar Arcs or...

    Just bought a 16 x 32 Copper Canyon - advice??

The dealer told me mine is covered as long as I follow their exact instructions.. I am leaning toward not burying it and just doing the deep end, building a splash deck with rails around it and have a lower deck off of that.. Just liked the idea of it being lower so when you're on the splash...

    Just bought a 16 x 32 Copper Canyon - advice??

Thanks Jason, was not aware of that since when you are the store that sells only doughboys and they are doing it themselves and they tell you about doing it I would not think they'd do that and not tell you that this would void the warranty.. ALso, they forwarded me instructions from Doughboy...

Hi there, this is my 2nd post to the forum..Just bought a 16 x 32 Copper Canyon.. Can't afford a full on installation if I want a deep end or to bury it part way so we were thinking of doing the digging ourselves for either just a deep end but after speaking to the employee of the store we...

Advice for new (soon to be) above ground pool owner

Hello, New to this forum.. Was hoping to get some advice on what sized pool to get. I know I want round, but not sure if an 18' x54" would work.. Mostly it will be 4 of us here, 2 adults and 2 kids, sometimes 3.. I may want to entertain a fairly small group of 10-12 people and not sure how...
