Air leak. What is this? Very old polaris pressure vacuum diverter?

It looks like it could be a space saving joint connector with three unions to make repair / upgrade easier than cutting glued pipes and couplers. Best guess would be the O-rings around one or more of the unions are done and need to be replaced and lubed, grab an oil filter wrench to get them off.

Replacing Heater need Gas Line Advice

I was very tempted to install my new heater myself, it isn’t complicated, but I opted to hire a professional given the costly consequences of making a simple mistake with those lines, I had everything ready for them to switch it out and the labor wasn’t expensive.

    Replacing Pump

In my limited experience the pump was pretty straight forward and each time only took about half an hour. Take photos as you go for reference and ensure the power is off! I have bought two pumps from amazon, the prices tend to fluctuate.

    Pump won't build pressure

Agree the DE filter is ready for a clean but you should have seen improvement after backwashing.... Have you had any changes in the water level? Have you tried priming the pump by filling the basket with water from the garden hose, then release air while the pump is priming using the filter...

Pool Timer stopped working.. Pump won't turn on manually from timer.

Is there a relay for the timer that may have blown?

Dead algae recirculating into return lines

As mentioned in reply #3 it sounds like an air leak could be causing you to lose prime at the pump which lets the water drain back from the DE filter, through the pressure lines and back in to the pool. Check the lid on the pump basket for air bubbles and look for where air is entering the...

Spa return draining to pool, water level dropping.

Howdy! In ground pool with attached spa, at least ten years old, installed by previous homeowners... The attached spa was dropping to the level of the pool water every time the pump shut off and I was "intermittently" losing water from the pool when the pump was running. I looked at the check...

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

Howdy, I do have a spa side remote that is the original remote attached to the previous compool. That has always worked since I upgraded to the easytouch and is wired to the IS4 remote slots per the manual. The new indoor control panel is wired in to the J20 circuit which has the four correct...

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

Not yet, I haven't had a chance to check the connection with the spa remote, hopefully I will have a go at it tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

:uhh::uhh::uhh: Argh! I had the phone jack connection that worked perfectly prior to the upgrade. I upgraded the external board first, then ordered the indoor panel a few weeks later. I called Pentair support asking how I can use the existing phone jack cable to connect the board and controller...

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

I didn't use an RJ 12 adapter, I upgraded to EasyTouch from the LX3800. I have a whisper flo pump, from a brief search the RJ 12 is for intelliflo? Should I add an adapter? Thanks!

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

Thanks, but I had no luck with switching the green and yellow wires. Tried inside only, outside only, both, power cycled and reset each attempt...

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

Thanks, I'll try to switch yellow and green. I don't know what an RJ 12 adapter is, so I doubt I used one. Thanks!

Problem installing Easytouch indoor control panel

Hi Papito07, I am in the same position as you. Install was straight forward and when I connected the indoor control panel, I had power immediately, but it reads NO COMM for me too. I have tried cycling the power and restarting the system in various order, I've checked all my connections...

EasyTouch UPGRADE overload / not enough amps?

That's what had me confused last week, the pump appeared to not be priming so I went after clogs, air leaks, or the pump going out. Ruled all of that out, then eventually put the old board back in and the pump primed and worked just fine. It literally was surging, start, stop, start, stop, and I...

EasyTouch UPGRADE overload / not enough amps?

Thanks for the replies, guys. :D I went back through my photos of the old circuit board set up, and found that previously, of the four wires coming from the minimax heater control to the pentair circuit board, the BLACK and GREEN wires had been spliced in to one terminal contact on the board...

EasyTouch UPGRADE overload / not enough amps?

I upgraded to an EasyTouch circuit board from a Comp pool board last week, ran fine for a few days, everything worked no problem, pump, cleaner, heater. HAPPY DAYS! Then I encountered a "surging" problem and the pump wouldn't filter. I spoke with Pentair support (after two full days of trial and...

Patio, Koi Pond & Outdoor Kitchen Build in Houston

Looks fantastic! Very cool space! I'm guessing the stone finish around the pizza oven is a veneer over the original red brick? Could you elaborate on the stone veneer for the columns, please? I'm thinking of removing the fiberglass columns i have on my patio and building a simple wood frame...

Pentair Easy Touch and Pentair Ultra Temp Heat Pump

Has the heater ever actually fired up? As in you know the heater has sufficient gas supply, ignition and pressure when it gets the signal from the control board? On my newly installed easy touch board, there are four clear points for the colored heater wires to be connected. On my old...

Pump only runs on backwash, fails / trips when pumping normally

Ok, I have established it's an issue with he new EASY TOUCH CIRCUIT BOARD. I reinstalled the old Pentair board and the pump pulls water and works no problem.... So either the new board is bad, or it is sensing air and tripping. Feel a bit stupid for not swapping the boards back out...

Pump losing prime/not performing properly - pump failing?

Does the pump get extremely hot before it shuts down to reset? That would signal it may be the capacitor again.

Pump only runs on backwash, fails / trips when pumping normally

If there was an air leak on the suction side, would the backwash still work without issue, but normal pump function would fail if it doesn't prime?

    Pump stops working

Sounds like it could be the run capacitor to me.... It's easy to change and should be about $15 from Amazon or Grainger.

Pump only runs on backwash, fails / trips when pumping normally

Erasing the eeprom didn't change the issue. I had wondered if it was failing was caused by overriding a heat sensor issue, but as soon as I started the pump after erasing it tried to run for ten seconds, couldn't prime and then started surging and tripping. Thanks

Pump only runs on backwash, fails / trips when pumping normally

Thanks for the reply. I have been operating it manually in service mode because I don't have the control panel installed in the house yet. So it was working on Saturday and Sunday in SERVICE mode, and suddenly on Monday night the pump started to fail in service mode. I'll try and erase it...

Pump only runs on backwash, fails / trips when pumping normally

Thanks for the rely, duraleigh. The PSI was good, I have a 60sq ft DE filter so the PSI starts around 20. I have backwashed and added 50 % new DE about a week ago, I sprayed the filters down in May.... I did just open the filter to see if there was anything clumped or stuck and they look...
