    QuartzCarpet

I’ll post details once I get more info. At this point it appears to be a viable option for my pool deck. We are waiting to see it installed on someone’s pool and hear what they say about it.

    QuartzCarpet

Thanks, that’s why I asked here. I was looking for any direct experience. We are doing all of the above while researching. The “more traditional” method as far as I can tell is to demo and replace the pool deck. That’s looking to be cost prohibitive at this point. Thanks for the input.

    QuartzCarpet

Obviously there are potential issues with any product like this. That’s why I was asking for any direct experience. We had the quote and consult this week and are going to go look at it installed at one of their customer’s pools. Quality and warranty look good and it appears to be easily...

    QuartzCarpet

Does anyone have any experience with QuartzCarpet? It’s a treatment to resurface pool decks. I have 24-year old exposed aggregate deck and plaster pool (second owner of house). I’m not sure we are ready to bite the cost of new deck and pool re-plaster. My local company says the plaster looks to...

    24-Year Old Pool Renovation

Original pool company looked over pool for a renovation assessment. They do not recommend doing a full renovation at the time. While my deck is in rough shape, he thinks the plaster looks to be in very good shape. The recomendation for now is to talk to a floor epoxy / coating company to see...

    24-Year Old Pool Renovation

It appears we are on borrowed time (per my local pool maintenance store who also built our pool). My deck is in rough shape. It's cement with medium-sized river rock as the aggregate (I think) and hard on the feet. The plaster is all stained, I suspect we have leak and the 5-valve in-floor...

Master Pools In Floor Gear Parts

Well, I managed to fix it. It turns out one the gear pin did not break, it just slid down so one of the cogs would not stay on. I'm back in business. I still feel like I'm on borrowed time and perhaps replacing it is a smart move, but it can now wait until the end of the season.

Master Pools In Floor Gear Parts

Thanks James. I've scoured the links for the gear assembly and as it's discontinued it's not available. The link is one of my two local pool retailers and I planned to call them tomorrow anyway. It looks like I'm stuck until I can get it looked at. I'm guessing its a full replacement.

Master Pools In Floor Gear Parts

Any updates here? I have the exact same piece of equipment on my pool and the gear assembly has completely failed. I"m thinking I may pull it out and run it without it if I can get it to reseal until I can get a new one.

    Muriatic Acid Drip? Odor?

Thanks. I read that it needs to be outside when I searched for this topic here. It’s in my pool shack which is away from the house and not sealed at all. I may have figured out what is causing it.

    Muriatic Acid Drip? Odor?

Hi! I added some MA to my pool today from an unopened 1-gallon jug. When I opened the jug I noticed the seal was not in the best shape and may have seen a drop or two on the cap threads. The jug had been stored in my garage. Later today, I’m smelling something in that vicinity. My wife says...

    Tiles Falling Off

Thanks. I've obviously not noticed the cracks. I'll do some internet searching and figure it out.

    Tiles Falling Off

My pool has had 3 border tiles fall off in the last 24 hours where the spa flows into the pool (which is how it runs normally unless we switch the valves to "Spa" and recirculate that water. I believe it is simply due to age. We have lived here 10-years and the pool has to be at least 20-years...

    Animal Feces in Pool

I vacuumed the pool and took FC up to 22 ppm (CYA 50 ppm) with SWG off. I had to add water to the pool again to keep skimmers high enough so I rechecked it and had to bump it back up this morning. The pool is in Service Mode and filtering. I plan to change the filters tomorrow and call it good...

    Animal Feces in Pool

Yup. I did read some of those but the most recent post I came across was 2-years ago so I decided to refresh the question.

    Animal Feces in Pool

Haha...yup, my FC was 11.5 yesterday. I've read the CDC guidance and everything else I could could quickly find searching the internet.

    Animal Feces in Pool

I went out to look over my pool this morning to check for frogs (we've ben getting a few swimmers most nights lately) and although I found nothing swimming in my pool, I did find some animal scat. It was mostly floaters near the shallow end but with the breeze it could've started anywhere. I...

Test Result Advice w/ High FC

Thanks! I guess I was focused on being in the recommended range and not being able to get an accurate pH reading.

Test Result Advice w/ High FC

Good afternoon, today's test results below. My FC has continued to remain high as I've dialed back the SWG. It is now off so I can hope for the FC to drift down a bit more. It was going down nice and steady then for whatever reason rose despite no change in my SWG. We have had to add what seem...

    Another Newb to Pool Care

I get it. Right now I have the luxury of letting FC drift down slowly and catching the trend. My CYA is still coming up I think. I am now reading around 40 with FC at 12.5. And it's been really hot here in NH this past week. I'm glad to be high on the FC scale. It's suprising how fast I went...

    Another Newb to Pool Care

I do understand now. I was also not sure what I was solving for originally. SWG%, Pump Hours or FC. That makes complete sense when solving for FC added per day. Thank you.

    Another Newb to Pool Care

I just played with the SWG settings again and found that combo. It did't seem like other settings would generate the settings. I just dropped it to 10-hours and 60%. I'm going to check FC tonight to see where it's at then go from there tomorrow. Thank you.

    Another Newb to Pool Care

I have not seen the best place to look for SWG setting calculation or is it trial and error? Thanks for your patience and help.

    Another Newb to Pool Care

For continuity and to document my progress. FC 12.5 (up from last reading two days ago) CC 0.5 (barely) pH 7.8 TA 100 CH 175 CYA 40 Salt 3000 (controller reads 2900) Currently SWG running at 75% and pump running 11-hours per day. Should I set SWG to something lower to ease FC back down? We had...

Thanks Deb. Too late, but my pH has been running 7.8 or higher for a while now. Hopefully all is well. I'll dial back my SWG now as well.

For continuity and to document my progress. FC 10.5 CC 0.5 (barely) pH 8.0 TA 100 CH 175 CYA 30 Salt 2800 Planning to add 1/2 gallon muriatic acid (20 Be; remainder of 1-gallon jug) to pool and expecting it to drop me close to 7.2. I"m going to brush the pool today and vacuum tomorrow. I'm...

    What pH is this?

FC is 10.5. I used 5 drops. I'll try 4 drops next time. Thanks. I'm getting ready to add ~32 more oz of muriatic acid.

    What pH is this?

I am having a hard time reading the pH scale. It seems like the color is never quite right. I am assuming in this case I am either off-scale or overthinking the color match. What's this look like?
