    Catridge filters

A friend asked if I would ask the fine people of the TPF for a place that sells cartridge filters at a good price. He says his filter will work with Pleatco PLB 130 or PLB 150, and having a sand filter I have no insight on where he can go. Thanks in advance

Re: Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest 2009 - Most Exotic Pet His name is Wilbur, yes from Charlotte's Web, we were going to name him Bacon, but my son (10 at the time) wanted Wilbur. For those who are interested, yes, he does eat pork.

I would go with a rough guess of the same amount you put in tonight to get to 24ppm. Try to repeat the same amounts you used throughout the day and you should be ok till the reagent lands.

Cheater!!!!!!! Oops... thats what I did also, although mine was on purpose. :-D Well your CYA should be low enough now. Now to refill and get the pump running when water level is high enough and retest and add whatever will be needed, I would start off at shock level, just to kill off...

From what we have read in the past, pigs are good swimmers, however they tend to panic in the water and drown trying to get out. He has never been in the pool, but has followed me into the stream in our front yard, towards the end of summer the water is low and just his belly gets wet.

    Kit refill questions

I believe as long as you store your kit in a cool dry place, you should be able to get 2/3 seasons before you "should" replace. Don't forget TFTESTKITS has refills also.

You definitely need to keep your FC up to shock level by checking it as often as possible and adding bleach as needed per the bleach calc. Also run your pump 24/7 if possible and backwash when needed. This is an on going process, not something that will clear itself over night. I had a battle...

    Proper way to add CYA

If you are not looking at backwashing anytime soon, then putting the CYA into the skimmer will be alright. A skimmer sock is a light weight filtering sock that fits over the skimmer basket to catch smaller particles of stuff that can work their way through a filter and back into the pool. I have...

    Proper way to add CYA

If you pour it into the skimmer you can't backwash until it has dissolved usually about a week, using a sock, and I was using an old hunting sock, lets it dissolve into the water and circulating quicker. Some also hang it in front of the return jet to dissolve directly into the pool. I also...
