    Pool Pilot Digital Pump Program

OK I got it all sorted out. My acid pump runs off its own GFCI circuit. The circuit had tripped, resetting it fixed it all up for me. However, it has been so long since I hooked this all up I had forgotten about this and I thought the pump was fed by the Autopilot supply. All it took was...

    Pool Pilot Digital Pump Program

after cleaning I get 28V at 4.0A, I hit the maintenance test and it report ~53,000 amp hours. Not sure exactly what that is. Reading this post: Pool Pilot error message: makes me think it is time for a new cell. Not sure that will fix the pump not working, but should fix the check cell...

    Pool Pilot Digital Pump Program

I cleaned the cell and while it is producing chlorine I still get the check cell light. I'll tear it open today and check the caps, and relay wiring. Hopefully I can find something wrong. I just don't see them disabling the pumps just because the check cell light is on. david

    Pool Pilot Digital Pump Program

All, I run my acid pump off the pool pilot. Recently I've noticed that it isn't running daily like it should. I tested the pump and it is fine. The issue seems to be that the pool pilot is no longer switching it on. When I manually enable it I can hear the relay switch, but I get nothing...

Autopilot shows 0 salt in pool

It is a DIG-220. The message says "Purifier Off check" There is no Flow on the end of the message, maybe there should be. I took the tri-sensor out and now after putting it back in it is working again. Maybe it was a flow issue and taking it out/in got it working again. thanks!

Autopilot shows 0 salt in pool

I check the cable, and it looks great. I check the connectivity for all six conductors in the wire and they are good. The connector to the sensor is clean, no water in it or anything. The other end is also hooked up properly. I opened the case and the wires go up to the panel and look fine...

Autopilot shows 0 salt in pool

My Autopilot is reporting 0 salt in the pool. I happen to know this incorrect because last week it showed 3500ppm. Any ideas on what I can check? I've dealt with salt generator issues, but never an issue where it thinks there is no salt. Is there a way to override this and get it to run...

    Pool replaster started today

Nope no cleaning of the tiles. That is a good idea though, I should have done that before they put new plaster in. Oh well . . .

    Pool replaster started today

More pictures. After the initial prep, where they chiseled off the plater around all the plumbing and tile, they sandblasted the entire pool to clean up any loose plaster. They then did the repair to the rebar and covered it with hydrolic cement. Next was this bonding coat, I was thinking it...

    Pool replaster started today

Today a couple guys showed up to start the replaster work. They spent about 3 hours, drained the pool, chipped plaster out from the two spots that need repairing and from around the tile and returns. Looks dirty but so far so good. Tomorrow they will finish the repair, sandblast the entire...

Something bad is happening to my pool . . .

OK I've had two companies come out and take a look. They confirm it is either rebar or rebar ties that are rusting. One recommends cutting into gunite, epoxy coating the rebar, plaster. The other recommends cutting into gunite, cut out rebar, fill with hydrolic cement, plaster. Both seem...

So what is involved in a re-plaster job? Maybe I can get educated before calling out contractors. david

Something bad is happening to my pool . . .

A couple years ago I noticed a stain in my pool. I tried the typical things to remove it, brushing, chlorine, etc. I finally decided that a piece of asphalt shingle had blown into the pool and had dissolved while I was away and it was stained with tar and moved on. Since then it has gotten...

    Shocking story!

I wouldn't worry about testing for CYA until after your done shocking. As long as you have CC you need to continue the shocking process. Go to poolcalcutor.com, go to the bottom of the page and it will show you target FC levels. You can also put in the dichlor you added and see if it was...

    Hayward 5060 pump parts

I need to replace the metal ring that attaches the pump seal plate to the pump face (volute). Don't get confused with the technical terms, I just googled the parts  Is this metal ring part of the seal plate kit? The pictures I see on the web do not show it, they just show the "spacer"...

Thanks my searching mojo isn't as good as yours. I figured someone here had tried both, but couldn't find it. dave

    Boric Acid, Powder or Granular?

Does it matter which is used in the pool? I would think that maybe powder would dissolve quicker/easier, but is also more costly. What is recommended? dave

    AutoPilot Low/Amp (yes another one)

Sean, I finally got around to ordering a new cell and just pop it in. Works great. Thanks for the picture about, that is what mine looks like. It helps to see a picture, made it easier to recognize what to look for. Guess all I have left to do now is to send in the old cell. One product...

    AutoPilot Low/Amp (yes another one)

OK, retested and salt is still way high at 4700ppm. Should I drain some water to reduce? Does it matter? The SWG is still ready low amperage it is reporting 29V 3A. I'll open it up and look carefully to see if I can see any signs of wear, but when I looked last time it looked nice and shiny...

    AutoPilot Low/Amp (yes another one)

I got the low amp flashing light, it said add some salt, so I did. While the salt was dissolving and going through the skimmer basket the light stopped flashing and read 25V@~6A, if I remember right. After some time the light starts flashing again. OK I get my salt test strip out and wait the...

    Rough Baquacil to Chlorine Conversion

interesting that you tried Zeo and a floatron also. I tried those together before finding TFP and working with the guy that builds the floatrons we figured out that the zeo actually captures the residual copper from the water, binding it so that the floatron could not produce enough copper to...

Sand vs. Zeolite comparison - anyone tried both?

I've used both and think zeo lite does a better job polishing the water, though it may be just my hoping it was better :) It does seem that I can back wash less with the ziolite than sand, but again I never did any measuring of it this is just seat of my pants stuff. I only need to back wash...

    Peristaltic Pump Question

Make sure you don't put both conductors through the ring, you will be disappointed in the results. You can only put one leg through to measure current flow. I use a couple of these to turn on my in house HEPA filters when the air handler fan turns on. dave

More questions about new TF-100 kit

I saw the flakes when I had copper in my water. After a water change (due to other reasons than copper), I've not seen them reappear.
