    Leveling ground for pool

When I was digging I hit some old sprinkler lines. I hacked them off since I no longer have the system connected. You will need to cap the pipes off or re-locate the sprinkler heads. Don't need to water under a pool!

Automatic vacuum for above ground pool.

I also use the Barracuda Ranger - got it for a deal on craigslist. Works well, hoping it does better around my cake steps vs the ladder from last year. It would clean around, but the guide ring would catch on the ladder bottom.

Started work on my 24" AGP...

I used a Zircon electronic water level that worked great for one person use. Mounted the one side to a pre-measured height on some 2x4s and marked a line on another replica of that.

    paver pricing

Looks to be well worth the money spent. I have been looking at replacing a cement slab with pavers and haven't even begun to get quotes. They did a great job leveling and giving a uniform look! That job would have taken me a few months haha

Worried about my new pool install

That's how I did my pool. Got the ground mostly level (but pavers perfect), and then used the sand (2-4" deep as well) to level.

My Craigslist 18x34 Doughboy AGP build

Pool looks great! I just put ours up too. Didn't get as good of a CL deal as you did, but it was a fair price. I'm also a neighbor (Holland).

First time pool owner, trying the BBB method.

Put in the CYA this morning, tested this evening. Says CYA is now up to ~20 with FC at 14. Should I wait a few more days for CYA to come up, or add some more? Thanks

I knew it was bad as soon as I realized what I had done :hammer: I will get the CYA in right away then. Using the TF100

First time pool owner, trying the BBB method.

Hello all. So I finished putting up our pool this last weekend and was off to a great start after filling it with some city water that tested neutral. It was the perfect starting point. I, in my over excited-ness to keep the pool clear, added WAY too much bleach. The pool calc said 35oz of...

Rounding the Corner... Install Completed 7/27/13

Re: Rounding the Corner to a New Pool Build I have been working on leveling my pool, trenching for electrical, and I too won't have the pool up by the 4th. I'm gonna be working like crazy on the 3rd trying to make it happen though!

    laser level recommendations

I think it would be best to rent one. I went with a water level to do my leveling. I read another users thread with him using a water level and I think it worked well for me. I know the reviews of the cheap lasers have the same complaint, can't see the laser in daylight. Best to rent an...

    Moles...

I'm getting ready to put down a pool and moles have been trailing through my leveled out area. I put down some "mole scoot". I'll see if it works, hoping so... I don't want to end up with the problem you have. I'll be looking into the urine for the perimiter too... sounds like a good idea.

Help finding quality shallow AGP for kids

Just have to keep it high enough for the skimmer. Maybe a lower placed skimmer? Would require a new liner if you were to use the original skimmer cut out.

Does anyone know the brand of these steps?

Thanks for the replies. I'll message her. It's odd that there is no marking or stamp on them anywhere. Tried looking at google images but no luck. Hopefully someone knows!

Does anyone know the brand of these steps?

I got these from a craigslist purchase, but I did not get the part that connects it to the decking. Looking for a brand name to possible order a replacement part. Thanks!

Cutting down chain link fence posts

I sawzall'd my last chainlink posts. Worked well because it was a slab and I could get parallel to the slab. It went fairly quick, but have a couple of blades.

New ABG Pool Owner - Privacy Question

I think it would work, but it seems the yard to the west of us (which is divided by chain link), they could still see over the fence and the pool area. I was a thought to use that as well. One thing I've thought about was using a cloth/shade strung up around the pool to enclose it by using a...

I thought of hedges, perhaps instead of a whole line of them, just site lining them would be a good option. Thanks

New ABG Pool Owner - Privacy Question

Hello everyone, first post here, first of many I'm sure. We recently bought a new home and are picking up a used Doughboy pool this week from craigslist. We have a completely fenced in back yard with mostly 4' chain link, but have some 6' dog ear wood fencing along the back of the lot. In...
