Pool Looking Green - Opening Tomorrow

Uhoh, when SLAMming I think I added too much liquid chlorine. My CYA is about 70 and pool math says to shock I should be at about 28 ppm FC. I am currently at 49ppm. Is that going to cause issues to my pool/equipment or is it ok for now? Also, my pool company left me a little bottle of...

Pool Looking Green - Opening Tomorrow

Update: they opened my pool today and I’m already making some progress. See photos attached. However, the pressure of my return jets is like a quarter of the strength I remember it being. I’m assuming that this is due to a clog somewhere and not because of an issue with my pump. The skimmers...

Pool Looking Green - Opening Tomorrow

Hello, My pool company is coming to open my pool tomorrow for the first time since I built it last year. They recommended I add enough water so that they can start the filter when they arrive. When I opened up the cover the water is green…Is it time to panic, or can I do something immediately...

Algaecide 1 month Prior to Pool Opening?

I attached the pertinent parts of the email from my pool company. I don’t know if you think they may have other motivations for sending that generic email however I think I am going to check under the cover. If it’s still clear I guess I will forego the algaecide prior to this years opening...

Algaecide 1 month Prior to Pool Opening?

Would you consider or recommend an algaecide without copper? I’m sorry this is all new to me.

Algaecide 1 month Prior to Pool Opening?

Thanks for the reply. The email that the pool company sent says this is specifically for customers with mesh loop loc covers (which I have). Is there any reason I should adding algaecide before opening because of this or you would still say not to add it?

Algaecide 1 month Prior to Pool Opening?

Hello, I had my pool built last year and so this is my first season opening the pool. My pool company is going to do the opening/summerizing. They recommend I pour liquid algaecide through the loop loc cover 1 month prior to them opening it. Problem is I just realized this now and they are...

Loop Loc Safety Cover Caving Under Snow and Ice

Thanks everybody. I think maybe I drained too much water out when my pool overflowed last month. The waters about 6” below the skimmers. I’ll leave it alone at this point. Appreciate everyone’s input as always.

Loop Loc Safety Cover Caving Under Snow and Ice

Hello, This is my first winter since building my pool and so it’s also my first winter with my loop loc ultra mesh safety cover. Last week we got about 6” of snow on the north shore of Long Island and my cover has been sagging significantly since then. It has warmed up a bit this week but the...

Thanks again for all your help!

Water Level Above Vinyl Liner Track

Thanks again for the advice. I lowered the water level a little more to about 6” below the skimmer and there’s a total of about 26” of water in the shallow end now. That is enough water to have in the pool still, right? I just looks low to me and I’m afraid it might affect the liner. I...

Water Level Above Vinyl Liner Track

Also, if it matters, I have vacuumed the residual water pooling at the bottom out 2x and it came back this morning. Thanks again.

Water Level Above Vinyl Liner Track

Update: I lowered the water level to about 3” under the skimmer and shop vacced out all the water from the skimmers. However, the skimmer in the shallow end of the pool keeps pooling water at the bottom of the foam/gizmo. Could that just be residual water or could it be the sign of a more...
