thanks...so when the lights are 'cycling' those clicks I hear are simply a contactor openingm and closing to adjust the lights by powering on and off? That seems to make sense. (IE all the smartness are integrated into the lights...the 'controller' is just a fancy lightswitch?)

Since you have done some researching, and I have not yet. My understanding this will plug into existing Jandy transformer question is is the existing aqualink setup capable of controlling the lights. After 10 years my last Jandy finally gave up.

Final Update for anyone using the search function. Mice Damage over the winter, root cause began when I knocked out a hole in the case while swapping out the newer style tri-sensor in 2018....I did not use a wire grommet or protect the new hole at all (didn't enter my mind) 2024 pool opening...

Follow up for anyone searching down the road. Replaced the ignition unit and all ops normal now. Thank you to the quick replies getting me moving the right direction on the diagnosis. Still unsure of the cause, there has not been any rodents in the heater for years, but it was a pretty good...

yea, its been repaired for about 5 years...little splicing lots of tape some shrink wrap and swear words.

Thanks again for the quick replies....embarrassed to say after looking a bit more I was able to make a small flame come out of the ignition control module....so something obviously shorting in there. While waiting for parts any reason I can't keep blower unplugged and run just the filter...

no error codes at all...the ignition box makes most sense at this point.

Symptoms....heater blower on whenever filter pump turned on regardless of pool heat on or off. Pentair Master Temp 400. Came out to clean pool and breaker was tripped, (happens on occasion....once or twice a season) reset breaker and the filter pump came on but the heater blower came on as...

The mk rebar kit was the ONLY thing that worked on our master temp pentair...3 mice intrusions in the first 3 years of ownership ... none since installing g the kit...heater works perfectly as well...seems expensive for what it is but everything was cut perfectly and took 5 minutes with a drill...

yea, I won't be using a cover so that's my issue....we get great sun in the afternoons, only use the heater a few times a year just with company or to extend the season but it all leaves overnight. Like the idea of solar just don't know if it would really help much...or at least not help...
