Ok thanks I get it now (I think lol) I was re-reading the SLAM page again and I see it says I can use DE to help my filter. Does TFP have a recommended brand of pool-grade DE or are either of these ok?

Thanks for the info - I thought I was doing a good thing by backwashing frequently. My gauge hovers between 8-10 so I wait until it's up near 15 then before I backwash? Yes, I have a sand filter and have updated my signature to show that.
