Oh its pretty light, usual dirt accumulated from the winter, I'm not seeing any alguea yet. Almost every pool store or hardware store has a pool degreaser of some kind and they are often included in pool opening kits. I'll stick to liquid chlorine only!

Is there any point in using a degreaser when opening the pool, to help with gunk removal from the vinyl?

Title says it all.... With a normal Ph, using liquid chlorine on a vinyl pool, how long could I stay at shock level (considering the cya / chlorine ratio, so let's say 20ppm for 50 CYA) before it starts to shorten the lifespan of equipment? I can't imagine it's without any effect on the liner...
