    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

Pulled all my connections again, re-wrapped t-tape everywhere it could use it. Solved the air problem, running with great flow. Good suction in the skimmer and lots of power at the jet. Still having the heater issue. Let it run for about 5 minutes, no error codes, ran and got hot. Noticed the...

    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

I spent some time this weekend on this. I disconnected every line, blew them out, cleaned everything, put it all back together. Now I can't get air out of my lines. I constantly have bubbles through my jet. I've back washed, refilled the lines and pump, and no matter what, I've still got...

Ok thanks. Tomorrow I'll pull some lines off and take a look to see if anything looks pinched.

    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

Dumb question - to check the water going into the heater - disconnect the in line to the heater and turn the pump on?

So next steps? Replace those lines to/from the heater?

Ok, I will look into that. The thing I'm struggling to understand, is it worked fine for the last 2 years, and for the first day of operation so far this spring.

This is the check valve between the heater and chlorinator.

    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

How can I test my flow? I have strong flow at the jet and suction at the skimmer. I did a long backwash and rinse. What else can I do to confirm if it's a flow issue?

Ok, got the bypass service cartridge replaced. Still having the same issue. Any other ideas?

    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

I've got the part on order, but can't for the life of me get the the old one out to look at it and see if it's got some build up or scale that needs to be removed. Am I missing something obvious to get it out?

Just to make sure I'm looking at the right spot - should be that middle cap right? about an inch diameter? I removed that, and there is nothing in there. I felt around as far as I could reach my finger in, and nothing.

Thanks, I will give that a try. Doubtful algae - it's a brand new liner as of Thursday and freshly filled with new water. I will go do a good backwash and try the heater again and report back.

    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

The pump is single speed. I believe it's a 1HP - the flow out the jet is very strong. When you say clean the filter, do you mean my sand filter? or is there a filter in the heater that needs cleaning?

    Hayward H150 Heater - Clicking/Popping Sounds

Hey everyone, first post here, hoping for some help with a new issue. The heater is 2 years old. I just got the pool opened and everything was working fine. I started the heater, and it fired up as normal, ran all day without issue. By later last evening, it was making a weird...
