Is this the norm? How do I know what pumps do that? I haven't seen anything in the descriptions of the pumps I've seen that indicate this feature If a pump is rated at 80 GPM, does running it at half speed = 40GPM? Or is the math more complicated than that?

Is it true that all VS pumps have to prime at full speed? If so, would a higher HP damage my pipes/filter - even if I run it low 99% of the time? I have 1.5" pipes and my DE2420 lists 48 GPM

So I'm thinking the 1HP for the waterfall, and perhaps 2HP for the filter? Or would the 3HP be worth the extra ~$100 cost? Is there a recommended vendor? Or should I just go through Amazon?

Would it be safe to leave my cleaning robot in the pool not running?

Opened the pool a few weeks ago but it looks like I'll be getting a few hours of mid-to-high 20s tonight. I plan on running the pump over night. Is there anything else I should do to protect my system as much as possible? Thanks!

All they said in the quote was "Hayward Super Pump Variable Speed (700 Series)". I'm assuming it's this or similar. I'm not married to Hayward though, so any other suggestions would be appreciated! Especially if they're more affordable

Hi All, While recharging my DE, I poured my DE slurry a little too quickly and some of spilled over the weir and into the pool. I estimate maybe about a half pound or so. Will this be a problem? And if so what should I do about it? Thanks! Matt
