using a SWG with Endlesspools Fastlane

I look at it this way, if a hose or the hydraulic motor fails, what's the worst that will happen? Vegetable oil in your pool? I think that will float, so easy to clean up. I'd say overly cautious. I don't plan on replacing them until they fail. I do plan on removing it for the winter when I...

using a SWG with Endlesspools Fastlane

Hi, You can see my build thread here: building-my-own-pool-in-north-jersey-t54107.html The fastlane is installed and working. Regarding chemistry, the salt level is easy to maintain. I think I added 680 lbs. of salt in the beginning for a ~28000 gallon pool. Salinity was ~3800 ppm at first...

Building my own pool in North Jersey

Flatlander, Sorry I didn't respond to your original post. I found the subs. by first searching for Gunite installers in my area, yellow pages, google search,(there won't be many) then calling them and telling them I'm building my own pool and asking for who they recommend for other trades...

Building my own pool in North Jersey

rats, hit the submit button too fast. Wanted to edit the list to make it easier to read. If I take the estimate a pool builder gave of $170K + the stuff he wasn't including (~$45K) That results in a savings of about $85K hiring the subs. directly and doing some of the work myself.

Building my own pool in North Jersey

You had me wondering about the cloudiness, but I opened the cover today and saw it pretty clear. Maybe the color or the waterfalls churning up the water makes it look cloudy. All those rocks were brought in from PA, but yeah, plenty of rock up this way. My dog loves the polaris and the whole...

Building my own pool in North Jersey

Well, I can say the pool is finally done. The fence contractor came back today to fix some shaky posts. It only took him 3 weeks to come back. Who knows how long it would have taken if I didn't owe him 1/2 the bill. Its been hot here in the Northeast the last week, along with the cover closed...

    rock speaker recommendation

I listened to the Insignia rock speakers at Best buy...they didn't sound good. I then went to the Magnolia Dept. and heard the Definitive Aw6500... :goodjob: far superior, but at $280 a pcs. a little than I wanted to spend. Turned to ebay where they are $130 shipped each for refurbs.,so I...

    rock speaker recommendation

Thanks all for the input. Initially, I'm waiting for a jack to connect the ipad up to my old tuner/receiver in the family room which is adjacent to the patio and pool. If this works, I can run speaker wires from it outside to the patio/pool area for music in the short term. After speaking with...

    rock speaker recommendation

I was told the 360 degree speakers don't give the base that a rock type speaker can offer. However I think it was OSD that said this, so they could be bias.

    rock speaker recommendation

I'm finishing up my pool project and am researching sound and lighting. My listening area (including the pool itself) is about 40 x 60'. The OSD RS850 are $400/pr. I'm going to try plugging my Ipad into an old tunner/amplifier and then wiring to the speakers. Do the RS850's offer good sound...

some pics of the landscaping. Fence guys showed up yesterday to get 1/2 done. Didn't show today... :grrrr: The local Pentair warranty service company doesn't have any experience with the newer XF pumps, so waiting on another company to call me back. I think this is going to take a while.

Building my own pool in North Jersey

Thanks. Little water goes over the wall. The silver bar is there to block it. It sits right on top of the slanted wall. Be sure to get almost all of the water off the cover before fully retracting it, otherwise the excess water and leaves and junk will have no where to go and splash over the...

Building my own pool in North Jersey

I thought I'd be done by now, but thanks to my landscaper....I'm not. Finally covered up all the mud and now have an insta-lawn thanks to sod. The bigger stuff has been planted around the pool, still more to plant. Fence is behind schedule thanks to all the rain, but should be installed in...
