Just got my kit yesterday afternoon and did verify the results. The TA was a little higher.
It's so strange! I feel like it's mostly the walls and not the sides of the steps. I've started brushing the walls 3-4 times a day and that does seem to be helping a bit. I guess I'll just keep...
I either take it into the pool store or the strips. I've ordered the testing kit recommended here and will test with it on Friday. The levels have been pretty spot on - keeping PH low. I think it's may be because I put baking soda directly into the pool without dilluting it in water first...
Following this - we have a new pool that has scale as well PH has been low, but by following the TFP and keeping CSI low, it should dissolve? It's probably too early for calcium buildup for us, as it's only 2 months old!

New pool owner here... I followed the instructions on the back of the baking soda bag and added it directly to the pool. I think this has now contributed to a sandpaper feel on the walls of the pool. Pool is less than 2 months old. Is muratic acid and scrubbing the only way to remove this...
