help putting together 16x48 intex ultra pool

My 16x48 with SWG came with the rope at the bottom and the legs definitely go inside the band. Make sure you get the band flattened out while the water level is sill 1' deep or less or it will be impossible to do later (I know this from experience!).

    Close pool?

Good idea! I'll check it out.

    Close pool?

Gee, you must be spoiled down there in Texas. We just got our Intex 16'x48" set up over Labor Day, and in Sept with the water at 74 the kids were playing in there for an hour or more before deciding that maybe they would come out. Now, with our warm Indian Summer spell here in the Bay Area of...

Ground prep area for 18' Ultra Frame Intex with pics

We just put up a similar 16' x 48" Ultraframe. Our site had to be dug down about 6 inches on the uphill side. Our ground is so full of rock every time I pulled up one small one, I'd find two more. We unearthed the large boulder in the pic attached. Since I didn't want a huge hole to fill, we...

How long for FC to drop from shock level to normal

Update: after letting the kids swim both Sat and Sun which I'm sure put lots of organics in the water, the FC is now down to 12 with a water temp in the low 70's. Looks like it's beginning to act much more normal now that we've actually used the pool. I'm going to let it drop further, then...

How long for FC to drop from shock level to normal

FP means "filter pump" which should not run the SWG, but maybe the fact that I never programmed a duration for the SWG means it is coming on all the time. I'll try programming just 1 or 2 hours a day and see if the FC drops. Maybe the solar cover is keeping the chlorine level up, but I don't...

How long for FC to drop from shock level to normal

Yes, it has had a solar bubble cover on it the whole time except when in use. The SWG is running in "FP" mode which means filter pump only (or that's what they say). I could try programming it for just 1 or 2 hours a day which should equate to maintaining a FC level of 3-5 and see if it drops...

How long for FC to drop from shock level to normal

It's been almost 2 weeks now since I did the initial dichlor treatment on our new 16x48" Ultraframe pool and the FC is still at 20 (it was a little over 25 when I finished the dichlor) and the CYA is about 50-60. We have the 2000 gph pump/filter/SWG combo and salt level is already at 3100 ppm...

How long for FC to drop from shock level to normal

We just got our 16' x 48" UltraSet up and running. After 5 days of dichlor, the CYA is at 60 (about right for running the Intex SWG), the pH is 7.6, and the FC is 25 (shock level). Salt is at 2800, so I'll be adding another 13 pounds to get it up to 3200. I'm not adding any bleach or running...

Intex floating skimmer with solar cover

Has anyone used a solar cover with the Intex floating skimmer? I would presume I'd need to cut out a section of the cover to allow the skimmer to work. Or should I not use the skimmer if the solar cover is on?

    Intex startup with SWG

Haven't added any salt because the pool isn't even up yet. I'll add the salt during the dichlor phase and then start up the SWG after the CYA is set and I'm not using dichlor for chlorine. As a side question, has anyone used a solar cover with the Intex floating skimmer? I would presume I'd...

    Intex startup with SWG

I'm going to be starting up an Intex 16' x 48" pool next week. (holds about 5000 gallons). We will be filling it with our well water, which will take about 3 days based on how long I can run my well pump each day. We have a 5000 gallon storage tank and I don't want to draw more than about...

    pavers vs. wood under legs

I'm getting ready to set up a 16' x 48" Intex UltraSet. I'm going to get some building rigid foam to put under the liner (as padding from possible rocks plus insulation). The question is whether to use pavers of about the same thickness as the foam or pieces of redwood or pressure-treated wood...
