What's the most affordable way to raise calcium in a pool in Florida, where they dont sell Ice Melt (or is it worth ordering that stuff to HD?) We have all the typicall pool stoors and home improvement stores, plus amazon.

I hear, I guess though protecting it from the sun couldnt hurt. I guess there is no evidence either way, I suppose it's not subject to a research paper 🤷‍♂️

Thanks everyone! It was indeed the seals, I found someone to fix it for not too much $$$ He did advise I should get a plastic cover for the pump to protect it from rain and sun, to extend its lifespan. Is that good advice? Thanks again everyone! Hopefully I won't have to revisit a new pump...

I was able to read off the faded label, it's a us motors c55cxjwn-2193 Does that change any of the advice?

I have been using WG sense (version 1) for over 6 months, and the FC and PH have always been very accurate compared to my Taylor tests.

A big thank you to everyone here. Yesterday I took my first swim of the season, and I came out NOT smelling like chlorine, which I grew up thinking is the norm!

So even 7.8 is not a problem?

The last two times I lowered my pool with MA to a OH of 7.2 or 7.3 within 3 days it heads up to 7.6, and it stays at 7.6 or 7.7 for two weeks, does that mean I should only lower my PH to 7.6?

My cleaner can scrub the walls, but I only set it for that once a week. What happens though, is even after it's been scrubbed/cleaned once the filter goes off, a few hours later it reappears Question about the hair net (which I used a few times) would it catch more pollen than the pool filter?

OCLT showed a loss of .5 soi guess it s pollen then. Still annoying, but at least I don't have to slam the pool.
